An evening of compelling music from two of bluegrass and country music's most beloved artists is in store when Front Row Live: Ricky Skaggs & The Whites world premieres on the Gospel Music Channel television network on Monday, July 7 at 9 p.m. ET. The hour-long concert, shot earlier this year in Atlanta, features music from Ricky Skaggs & The Whites' GRAMMY® and Dove Award-winning The Salt of the Earth CD. The Front Row Live concert includes "Salt Of The Earth," 'Homesick For Heaven," "This Old House," "Wings Of A Dove," "Blessed Assurance," "The Solid Rock," "Near The Cross," "Farther Along," and "Big Wheel" from The Salt of the Earth as well as two nostalgic traditional songs: "Children, Go Where I Send Thee" and "Family Bible." Skaggs, who plays mandolin, fiddle, guitar and banjo, is bluegrass music's unofficial ambassador with 13 GRAMMY Awards among his collection of musical trophies celebrating his excellence as a multi-instrumental virtuoso. The Whites, consisting of Sharon White, her sister Cheryl, and their father Buck, have scored numerous country hits and were part of bluegrass music's revival with a song on the GRAMMY Award Winning O' Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack. Collaborating with The Whites on The Salt of the Earth CD and for the Front Row Live concert was a natural for Skaggs – he has been married to Sharon White since 1981. Prior to Front Row Live: Ricky Skaggs & The Whites at 7:30 p.m., Gospel Music Channel presents Faith & Fame: Ricky Skaggs, a biographical look at the musician's life and career. Gospel Music Channel will present additional presentations of Front Row Live: Ricky Skaggs & The Whites throughout July including on Sunday, July 13 at 4 p.m. ET/PT. Visit http://www.gospelmusicchannel.com for complete listings. Front Row Live is GMC's original series featuring powerhouse artists hosting their own concert performances while sharing their musical inspirations in front of specially-invited audiences. Gospel Music Channel is the fastest-growing network in television today and can be seen in nearly 40 million homes on various cable systems around the country and nationwide on DIRECTV.
