Hey all,
This weekend starts off Myrtle Beach Bike Week, even though the city of Myrtle Beach itself doesn't seem to want it. All sorts of new ordinances were made last year, trying to discourage bikers from holding rallies in Myrtle Beach, including the stupisest law I've ever heard of; a helmet law just for the city. These new ordinances, supposedly made to keep Myrtle Beach a family friendly destination, will only hurt the local businesses there. From hotel bookings to restaurants and T-shirt shops, revenues appear to be heading down, all due to the power of the biker.

Thousands of people will be headed to the Grand Strand area this week, many to protest what the city of Myrtle Beach has done to discriminate against bikers. I encourage anyone who is in the area to avoid the actual city limits of Myrtle Beach, but to support the local shops outside the city limits, the ones who depend on bikers to make their year. Since ours is a bar-based website, I mainly encourage you to support the bars outside the limits.  Places like HB Spokes in North Myrtle Beach, The Dog House North, Causeway Grill in Garden City, Beaver Bar in Murrell's inlet (a past Bar of the Month) and this month's Bar of the Month, Suck Bang Blow in Murrell's Inlet . These places, and all the other bars I didn't mention, need your support to continue having the huge blowouts they have each year. Go to the Myrtle Beach area, have a great time, don't be stupid with your alcohol consumption, send me pictures, and show Myrtle Beach that you don't acept their bias and predjudice against bikers.

Ride safe,
Jeff

We are getting ready to head out for Myrtle tomorrow morning. It will be interesting this year, to say the least. We will definitely be outside the city limits and hope everyone else does the same!
