Hey guys!
Wow, we had quite the night last Thursday @ Berbati's Pan! We kicked off the release of our debut CD, "Rise Above It All", with a bang. It was a packed house that came out to see Keegan Smith open for us. He played a very funky and groovin' set to start the night off on the right foot. Then it was our turn and we let the crowd's energy guide us! Joined by Lauren Abraham on lead guitar and Paul Logan on keyboards, we worked our way through the tracks on the new album as if we'd played them thousands of times before. The set was split in the middle by the crowd favorite, our version of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire." As our set drew to a close we were pleasantly surprised to hear the calls of "encore, encore." How could we resist? Tom Petty's "Honey Bee" was the song of choice and was a perfect way to end our set. We poured off stage to make room for Jacob Merlin to round out the evening's entertainment. Jacob and his band were the cherry on top of a delicious musical hot fudge sunday that pleased even the most critical music lover.
Thank you so much to everyone that made it to the show and shared such a special evening with us! You guys made it an absolute pleasure to play for you. Thank you also to the dozens of "crew" members that helped us pull off the night without a hitch. Special thanks to Bigler Productions for filming for the upcoming DVD & Rich Janigian for the "behind-the-scenes" footage.
For those of you who were unable to make it to the show, keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming DVD that will feature footage from the CD release party!
Thanks again so much to all of you! We couldn't have pulled it off without you!
Much love and keep well,
The Brian Odell Band
