The Hillbilly Blog

And wherever he set foot- in all the little towns and villages or in the country- they brung sick folks to the Walmart. They begged 'eem to let 'em just please touch the fringes on 'ees robe and ever'body that touched 'eem was healed.  (Mark 6:56, The Hillbilly Bible)

One of the main things King Jesus done when He come the first time was to just up and heal ever'body a ever'thang ever'where he went. If'n that don't tell ye how God feels about human sufferin' then I reckon ye just ain't got yer ears on.

King Jesus cares. He wants us to bring our troubles and sicknesses and them there infirmities to 'eem. He wants us to trust enough to come.

That's what folks done way back yonder in Israel. He was so powerful that all folks had to do was just to touch 'ees clothes and they was healed right then and there!  Does King Jesus still have that kinda power?  You bet yer bottom dollar He shore does!

One time I was sick, real sick y'all. I was a bleedin', hurtin', losin' weight. I could'n even eat nuthin without my innerds feelin' like somebody punched me in the gut. I was afraid I was gonna die. That's right. Big ole strappin', tater eatin', Stevie Rey, what with all the big muscles and such (****smile****) was ailin' somethin' fierce. I weighed 'bout a buck fiddy and ye could see my bones right thew my ribs.  Awwww, I was real bad sick y'all.  I remember layin' on the floor and tellin' my Daddy with tears in my eyes..."Daddy, I don't wanna die."

Well, y'all. Apparently my heavenly Daddy heard that prayer too, cuz here I am. Last night I ate a Burrito as big as yer head and it did'n even phase me.  That's my King, y'all. He's a Hillbilly Healer.

If'n y'all got somebody that's sick, let us know so's we can pray fer 'em right cheer. I love y'all and King Jesus loves ye too.

Stevie Rey is the author of The Hillbilly Bible.

This is a great personal blog for the first day of flu season! A good man is never less alone than when alone with God. Remember when we get sick to touch God and pray to God and ask for a healin' before we go to that doctor. May you have a blessed day Stevie!

My daddy always used to tell me and still does, he wishes he could take the pain away and have what I had. You could tell her that! :) Not that I'm wishing you to be  sick, lol. Just saying you might want to remember that sayin when you get older. It always comforted me. lol.

I'd take away anything she had and lay it on my back. I reckon that's the way Daddy's feel, Heather...includin' our heavenly Daddy.

I'm sincerely thankful you've been healed of the illness that had you in it's grip. I'll most definately hold your friend in my prayers! God is most assuredly generous in His mercy, grace and love. We can't even begin to fathom His power and greatness!

Love in Christ,
Deborah

Mr. Hillbilly...I will most certainly pray for your friend and family (maybe I'd better forward this blog to half of my 600 who are saying that they're feeling pretty sick today).

Losing weight...that's what's happening to me for the past group of months or so. I eat and eat, but I can't gain weight. I always lose weight. My mom thinks I'm going anorexic again because my ribs are starting to become visible. (I've always been a skinny person, but this is a bit ridiculous...) I really need to start gaining weight again, but not even the fattiest foods I'm eating are doing anything. My metabolism and thyroid are both just too fast. HELP!??! I wanna be able to eat a huge burrito and weigh my normal weight after about thirty of them or whatever it takes. I like being skinny, but even I know the fine line between "skinny" and "too skinny." And I'm too skinny. Please pray?
(Also some advice on what I can do will be greatly appreciated.)

If you could pray for my cousin Louise...she suffers from horrid arthritis, and it's been acting up lately. For her age, she shouldn't even be having arthritis all over her body the way she does (she's older than me, safe knowledge). There are times when she can't hold her own grandson because of the flare-ups or go to her billiards games. T^T She's also missed a few Bible Studies...please pray for her!

Thank you so much!

Lord, please be with dear Christie and help her to gain weight. And please help with her Aunt's arthritis too. As fer gainin' weight, Christie...lot's of Cheeseburgers and milkshakes might do the trick :-)

TERI, A CHILD OF GOD
Teri Starbuck

Remember I asked ya to pray for Elijah Moore, one of the King of King's Skateboard Ministry guys that was dying, in a coma a few weeks back?
He's out of the hospital and saw a picture of him yesterday on his skateboard with the team! (he still needs prayer, as his kidneys aren't 100% yet) but what a miracle!!
Stevie, I know what you had, and my son had the same thing about 10 years ago, thought we were losing him, but God had different plans for his life, and he's basically doing good today. . . under control thanks to alot of prayer!
Thought we were going to lose my precious grandson when he was born way too early, 2 years ago on the the 4th July, but with an army praying for him, he survived, and is bigger and smarter than most 2 year olds today!
I was laying on my couch about 20 years ago, and I know I was dying. Was spose to go back to hospital for more emergency surgery or I would die. (just 1 week after a major abdominal surgery). Couldn't eat, could barely whisper. I said NO, my God is bigger than that, and I called for the elders of my church to come and pray over me that night, like it tells us to do in the book of James. Everyone's eyeballs bout fell outta their heads, when I sat up afterwards and ate a roast beef dinner and was back on my feet the next day.
1 1/2 yrs ago, there was that GIANT leap of faith I took, (see blog) when I quit my job without having another one (and I support myself), so I jumped off that cliff, knowing that God would catch me before I hit the bottom, and He did.
I could probably write a book about the power of prayer, just from 1st hand experiences, so YES, THERE IS POWER IN PRAYER.
No prayer too small or too big for God to handle.
So, don't say how big our problem is... tell our problem how big our God is!

Luv, hugz, and blessins to y'all!!
Terio  ;-)

Thankyou for reminding us he is the great physician physically as well as spiritually!
Sometimes we serve him better in our weakness as with Paul, other times he will heal so he may get the glory our GOD so richly deserves. What a mighty GOD we serve!
