Thought it was about time to write in this one again.
Still at my job at Genworth Financial, and loving it!
Though it DOES get a little hectic at times. Just this last week, we had some people in Richmond for training and some othersout on vacation so we were a little short handed. Those of us that were left took about 100 calls per day.
That is what I do... I am a phone rep for one of the biggest financial services companies in the country... well we are world-wide now. I am a part of the producer services unit... i deal mainly with the insurance producers and agencies that sell our products. We carry life and long-term care insurance, mortgage insurance, health and disability insurance and also retirement annuities.
I have learned alot since starting there, but there is so much more to learn. I am getting ready to start what they call the LOMA courses, which teach in depth about the insurance business and products that are available. I can’t wait t start!
Darryl is doing great. He is getting ready to go to tractor trailer driving school. I am praying that he will be able to do this as he had his back surgery only 2 years ago and they said that it would take 3 - 5 years for him to heal completely. The replaced a couple of discs with cadaver bone and put titanium plates and screws into his spine.
(For those of you who were not in contact then) Our doctor has confidence that he will be able to do it if he can get with a company that will give him no-touch freight.... and that is likely too because the are accommodating for the more and more women that are getting into the business. Basically, he is forcing himself to do it because we are having a hard time making ends meet. (at this point in time, they are about 10 feet apart!!!)
Anyway, we are doing all right otherwise. I am enjoying what they call winter here! 50 degrees and everyone here is in their parka... looking at me like I am crazy in just my little sweater! 10 snow flakes and they shut down the state!!!
I get a huge kick out of them. One of my supervisors started to yell at me one day cuz I didn’t have a ’proper coat’ then said "Sorry, I forgot who I was talkin’ to... Yankee!!!" Everyone I work with is cool, there are about 25 of us on the call center team and three senior CSR’s and two team leaders and then the manager. We are all like on huge family. There isn’t the cattiness that you usually get when you have so many women working together in the same place. (Only 2 are guys!) No back-stabbing or snideness. I love it!
Okay, I think that I have talked you ears off enough. Write more later!
Love y’all,
Zoe
