Psyopus Tour Blog: Day 2 – New London, CT
In the immortal words of Shelter, “Here, Here, Here We Go Again!”
Yesterday marked the commencement of yet another tour (our 5th in 4 months? Yikes), and a new Psyopus tour means a new Psyopus bass player (our 4th in 4 months? Yikes). As one might suspect, bringing a new member into the fold consistently presents a series of new and challenging adjustments, What kind of adjustments, you ask? Well, forming new musical and personal relationships, for starters. But perhaps the most crucial challenge of all is figuring out exactly how compatible our new member’s equipment is with the inside of our van.
You see, we choose to tour sans trailer, which means that we have been forced to become true life Tetris masters in order to create comfortable living space. And every time we think we’ve figured out, somebody decides to leave the band and take their equipment with them, forcing us to start from organizational scratch once again. As a result, more time was spent packing the van than rehearsing for this tour. You can clearly see where our priorities lie. So if you have any great aspirations of becoming the next bass player in Psyopus (I’m sure we will need a new one by early next week. Nothing personal, Brian), be sure that your gear fits into our grand packing scheme.
