My Everyday Spirituality: Making Peace with Chaos
by Cindy Bonaparte
When I come home every night, I hope to find refuge from the crazy world I have to go bumbling around in. Whether I've experienced road rage and honking horns, nasty supervisors, or a broken heel on a really bad date, I try to shed the chaos at my front door.
But some days, this proves more challenging than others.
Although I don't literally hear my boss yelling as I turn on my tea kettle, and a car doesn't cut me off in the hallway to the bathroom, I sometimes can't help but stir up that negative energy when I reflect on the day's events.
My mood changes, and I feel as if all that energy comes back to me over and over again. I even wake up the next day still feeling tired!
So I decided it wasn't enough for my home to be quiet, it needed harmony…and lot's of it! You know what I'm talking about if you've ever walked into someone's place and said, "Wow! I just feel so nice when I come into your home!" ¬
I made it my mission to chaos-proof my home, and along the way, I discovered a Harmony Intention Candle Kit at www.ToriHartman.com. I felt like it was made especially for me.
The act of lighting this organic soy aromatherapy candle immediately relaxed me and lifted my spirits. The intention-setting booklet that accompanied the candle (which, by the way, weighed in at nearly three whopping pounds!) suggested I keep the candle lit for seven ceremonial days. So I did, each day coming home to my candle burning safely in its sizable glass jar. As soon as I saw it, I was reminded me of the peace and harmony I wanted to create.
Making the Harmony Intention Candle part of my daily routine forced me to make something positive out of each day and envision things happening the way I want. As a result, I now carry some good vibes when I go back into the chaotic world to block out the negativity.
With all that positive energy radiating from me, I've seen interesting results! My boss is less tense and seems to respect me more. Drivers make eye contact and let me into their lanes. And that bad date? He's actually a really sweet guy!
Now, my friends come over and say, "Wow! I feel so at peace when I come to your house." It makes me feel good that I can affect those around me, and the world seems a better place. Who wouldn't want that?
Thanks To Cindy for writing such a wonderful blog
