It's about that time...

The Exclaim! Cup Hockey Summit of the Arts is just around the corner. Join us April 6-8 for the thrill of victory (my Winnipeg Wheatfield Souldiers) and the agony of defeat (the others) as well as food, drinks and good times. York University is where it all goes down this year and we'll all be hanging out all day in the festive atmosphere we call The Exclaim, so throw some non-perishable food donations in your travelin' satchel and come join us. You'll be asking yourself "Chris Murphy can skate?!" (he can), "Tyler Stewart can shoot?!" (not very hard, actually), people from Ottawa can drink for 63 hours straight and still win?! (they can and they do). You gonna miss all that? Are you crazy?!

Check out http://exclaimhockey.ca

Your local heart-throbs and ambassadors of all that is good about hockey, the Winnipeg Wheatfield Souldiers, will hit the ice Friday at 1 pm vs. La Hacienda, 5 pm vs. Ottawa and Saturday at 3 pm vs. Edmonton (the first ever prairie showdown!). Come show your support... you know we love you.

But wait, there's more! Friday night we will hit the concert stage at Lee's Palace to serve up some Hootenanny goodness. We will rock you and you need to be there. See Jordan sing and play guitar, see John Sutton sing and play guitar, see Brad Sveistrup and Wes Gerbrandt, well, uh, sing and play guit... anyway you get the idea. Great music and a few surprises courtesy of the Souldiers as well as sets by The Lads (could there be some Who songs performed? How original ;)) and Halifax (Will Murphy rap again? Will Hilliard be clapping?) among others await you. More food donations are the order of the day (or night as it were) so come on out and join the party!

"The Lads, could there be some Who songs performed?" Funny. Hardee-har-har-har... cuz, like, the Souldiers have NEVER done any Guess Who tunes... Seriously, we've only ever done one Who tune at the summit. But don't worry. We plan to rawk it at our Whotenanny this year...
good luck on the ice. It'll be a tough act to follow for us at Lee's on Friday night.
