We had to say a tearful goodbye to our sweet little Jack today. About a month ago, we noticed he had been losing some weight and seemed to be quite lethargic. After a checkup and a chest X-Ray, we found that he had fluid in his chest. We ran every test the vet suggested, with no real success in a diagnosis. The fluid came back every time the vet drained it, and he lost so much weight that he looked like skin and bones. Over the weekend, he started to struggle greatly with his breathing, and we knew that he was suffering.
He was such a sweet little guy, and he was wonderful with the kids. It was heartbreaking to lose him after finding him less than a year ago, but it was even harder to watch him suffer. He didn't deserve it. I hope he's chasing bunny rabbits in a green field somewhere right now . . .
We will always love you, Jack!
