this is gonna be long, if u dont have the time, interest, or attention span to read it all, leave.

this is how i interpreted the last manga to be able to understand naruto. i put too much thought into this anime.

ok so in the last manga, the 4th was inside naruto's consciousness to
stop naruto from releasing the full kyuubi. at first i thought "well,
this explains the 4th's death." but then i thought "maybe naruto is so
close to death he can see his father." but finally, this came across my
mind:

Naruto is simply his father's spirit in bodily form, which was meant to contain the power of the kyuubi.

(of course, with some extra stuff)

ok, so lets go back to naruto's birth. the 4th sealed the whole kyuubi
in naruto, along with himself as a back up to make sure the whole
kyuubi wont get out of naruto, and out of control. but does this mean
it only did what it was supposed to do? I think it had a subconscious
effect which is extremely significant and bold-faced in Naruto's
personality.

let's move on to childhood. and compare naruto w/ Gaara. they both
obviously grew up with the same situation, no one understood them, blah
blah blah, the anime says this well over enough times. now here's the
difference. Gaara grew up in fear of himself, and hating everyone. this
is a result of going through the same experience Naruto has. so why has
Naruto grown in a different way? well, as a result of how he was
treated while growing up, he should have been just like Gaara. that
hasn't happened. Something in naruto made him unable to give up proving
himself under any circumstances. this would be a subconscious choice,
something from his spirit. I personally think it's mostly a result of
the 4th's spirit being in naruto's subconscious. otherwise, Naruto
would have grown up to be just like Gaara.

Later on, because of his spirit, Naruto continues to be the #1
unpredictable ninja, now with motivation of becoming hokage, so that he
can finally gain acceptance from those around him, which he has wanted
so badly because of how he was treated in his childhood. He also
continues to surpass himself again and again, until he even surpasses
Kakashi's level!

Kakashi pointed out that Naruto could be the only one to surpass the
4th. i mean, who else could surpass the 4th but an ultimate result of
the 4th himself? not only because naruto is child to the 4th, but as
explained earlier, also because of a domino effect, starting with the
unique seal of the 4th! in the latest manga, Naruto is basically
meeting with the part of his subconscious that, after a large amount of
time, finally made naruto who he is now.

in conclusion, I think that because of the 4th's backup plan, it made
naruto extremely stubborn to no end, and helped naruto surpass his own
father. also, of course, that a large part of naruto's personality is
just his father's personality, not just because they are father and
son, but because of the whole spirit seal thing.
