On April 9th at The Mean Eyed Cat will be a big show featuring many artists in a benefit for one of Austin's most beloved and sought after musicians, and a dear friend,Guitarist Lars Albrecht.

Lars currently records/tours with the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash, and has worked with -and continues to work with-many artists including Chris Wall, Jackson Taylor, Sunny Sweeney, Doctor G, Brigitte London and many, many more. Lars is not only a consumate musician, he always gives his all no matter how big or small the show is. He is there for the music. Widely respected for his talent and for who he is as a person, he has contributed much to the Texas music scene. 

Lars moved to Austin from Norway several years ago when he fell in love with his lovely wife, recording artist Dee Lannon, and they have an adorable son, Hart. I've been honored to work with Lars a lot over the years on tour and on recordings. One of the best things about moving back to Austin has been reuniting with him musically. Everyone who works with Lars considers him a treasured friend.

Lars is currently recovering from surgery for a tumor in his brain and is still undergoing treatment. Our thoughts are with him for making a full recovery and he will be back slinging his tele soon. In the meantime, medical bills and trips back and forth to Houston and loss of work, contribute stress when the focus needs to be on healing. 

The Benefit will be from 7-10 on April 9th at the Mean Eyed Cat, with an A-list of performers (full list TBA) and an auction with many items and musical memoribilia. Come out and show your love and support! If you aren't able to make the show, you can donate here:
