So, the other day I'm at a thrift store perusing and buying shirts when all of a sudden I come across a t-shirt that says, "Blood Is The New Black," all over it repeated about 6 times in some slightly futuristic font. I want to go on record (because we all know that MySpace blogs are official records recognized by all courts of the law) and say that I wrote the song "Black Blood", whose chorus is the phrase "Blood is the new black" repeated about 4 times, in 2006 and that the song was in no way inspired by these t-shirts. In fact, I don't know if these shirts even existed before the song. The song was inspired by pop culture's acceptance of violence and the ongoing war in Iraq. If these shirts were inspired by "Black Blood," then I am not offended and am flattered, but a little credit would be nice. Just wanted to get it out there and set the record straight.
