Songs For the Backseat was recorded early summer of 2008 around the time Carrie moved to Ohio. The album is the accumulation of a year or two of songwriting by Alex and Carrie.

Songs For One Another was released in January 2008 for Carrie's birthday. Carrie wrote Winter for Alex and Alex wrote Your Song for Carrie in the fall of 2007.
