"The Wrong House" Film premiere. The Maine-made HD horror film The
Wrong House will host its world premiere at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept.
20, 2009 at Cinemagic theater in Westbrook, Maine.
The story: An isolated house in the woods looks like an easy mark to a
group of friends camping in the Maine wilderness. The thieves haul away
several ounces of pot and psychedelic mushrooms in the heist. But when
the homeowners track them down, the thieves learn too late that there
are some people you just shouldn’t mess with… and that they picked The
Wrong House.
The stunt-heavy horror film was written by Shawn French of Wisdumb
Productions and co-directed by French and Andy Davis (2, Adelle) of
Emptyhouse Film. The story was inspired by a break-in at the home of
husband-wife producers Shawn French and Sue Stevens, who play serial
killers in the film.
Something goes wrong in The Wrong House“Obviously, the involvement of
an established director like Andy Davis took this film to a whole new
level,” French said. “Not only did he shoot a beautiful movie, but he’s
just as twisted as my wife and I. We spent the production finding new
and horrific ways to up the brutality. We had an amazing cast that
really embraced the physicality and were up for anything we threw at
them. Everyone walked away bruised.”
The Wrong House was filmed last fall in Limerick, Maine, and features
horror FX by artist Eric Anderson of the Portland-area FX group, The
Shoggoth Assembly. The film also includes a dramatic soundscape created
specially for the film by Damien Zygote.
