Apparently my resolve to update more often is flagging. But that brings me to a topic I've been thinking about: the power of taking a break.
There are some musicians I really respect who just produce too much. It's as though they record their every musical thought. I understand that most of them have record labels breathing down their necks, urging them to create more products to sell. But I wish I could shake them and say, "This sounds exactly like your last album! Take a break!"
Even young unsigned artists can fall into the trap of doing too much. Chasing every opportunity before they've even had time to mature artistically. Rushing to have a product to promote without taking the time to experience life and reflect on it.
This is probably symptomatic of a larger cultural obsession with money and productivity, but I've ranted enough for now.
