Gervasio Sánchez

Gervasio Sánchez recieved the Premio Nacional de la Fotografía, Spain's most prestigous award for photography.  Sánchez's images bring to light the extreme tragedy and hardship of life in conflict zones and bear witness to the extreme difficulties faced by victims of war.  His series, Vidas Minadas, is a look into the reality of those individuals maimed by anti-personnel devices. The aesthetic beauty of Gervasio Sánchez's photographs are a reminder that war is the everyday reality for many and are unmitigable proof of man's inhumanity to man.
