Cast your minds back to those balmy (!) days of June.  A June wherein I contemplated stacking shelves as a means to an end...(eventually it transpires that I get offered, at a gig I'm doing, a job in the office I used to work in...yay! a 3 month temporary contract? so doable!!).

It is now October.  The (work) end is not in sight, and the task has become (daily) more Sisyphaean, but more importantly, in the interim, I have an entirely new studio set-up, kindly sorted by my bestest mate and producer Paul,  which is being sorely underutilised. Frustrated? me?? naaahhhh.....arrrrggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
However! in order to preserve what little remains of my rapidly dwindling sanity, I have decided that it's about time I got some kind of semblance of album together....so work has commenced.... there's 5 tracks (8 as of 27th October!) down, six in the 'works'. And it will be ready very early next year....

I'm so sorry to have been so remiss in saying 'hi', getting back to all your lovely messages and comments; in all honesty I've had little energy/brain-space for anything much, apart from trying not to feel like I'm temporarily incarcerated in Work Prison without chance of parole and attempting to avoid drooling the worst of the mollifying mixture of chocolate and wine on the keyboard.  I doooo realise that this too shall pass, and all will soon be a distant memory/nightmare...

In the meantime, my other bands are variously going off the rails (through lack of rehearsal), and going on to bigger, brighter things with gigs and new albums in the pipeline tooo!!!!
so that's me!
hugs to y'all
xox

Eight more tunes to get down by New Year? Piece o' cake! Try the old Blackadder trick of turning up to work with a pencil up each nostril, and you'll have bags more time for composing. Sorted.

Yep, definitely go with the pencil idea. A nice 2B should do it - 2005 was a good year if you know someone who can get them for you...

Hug accepted and appreciated!
Glad to hear you're gearing up for making more chewns.
My spanking new studio sits neglected and gathering dust...
My anus and my thumb are going to have to part company,
before it's too late!  I have some nice noises in the pipe (ooh-err)
I just need a shot of motivation.  maybe two or three shots...

Be good, go well xxx

Excited to hear your getting a solo album out in the next few months! sure it will do brilliantly.
Just had a lovely autumn walk with the dog this morning - a day when it feels good to be alive!
Love,

Kim,  I understand and sympathise completely with the conflict between the meaningless labour, making you feel like a slave, and the creative need, the first taking a great toll on the latter.  I know the main reason I'm getting so much recording done is because I'm out of work at the moment, I'd rather never go back again!  I'm so pleased for you that you have a great new studio set-up and are progressing with your album, there's light at the end of the tunnel!  xox

Hello Kim and be brave knowing that you are entirely NOT alone. here I stand in my own version of stacking shelves,(nobody offered me my old job back in time to save me from the worst. Come to think of it, I didn't have one. Aha that'll be the reason!...) Anyway in my version there is CONTINUAL muzak blaring out from a radio station who's slogan is Q is good for you. Your knowledge of the dutch language will immediately tell you my voluble reply. Drives me nuts. I know tha Q is kut for you and I can't write in that shite two nostril-pencils or no. Hey ho ain't life real ain't life ernest. Nevermind there's always the blunt spoon, I suppose. Enough of this despond. Studioize you and bring us all some new Kimisms. SHINE girl SHINE xxxxx Alan
