hello beautiful people... it seems like its been along time seems we've talked. a little flood in the basement has washed away any bad vibes and i think the BabY is ready to have a little ritual with you all, if you are willing. it's easy to get caught up in stuff that doesn't matter, or you even start asking yourself if anything matters. we spend a lot of time in the urban landscape trying to piece things together while the larger picture gets shadier and shadier. i used to always look to the MiLkBabY entity as a source of grounding. a ritual that could cleanse my soul's palette, my bandmate's, and hopefully a willing audience. now, over the years, i have been lucky to be able to put together a living as a freelance musician through composition work, accompaniment work and the like. the only downside of being a freelancer is that you have to hustle, just like all you reading this have to hustle. the thing is that i think i have let the hustle bleed into the MiLkBabY. MiLkBabY was supposed to be the place where the hustle got cleaned away and your spirit was recharged and ready to eat the good food again.... good lord, the originally MiLkBabY honed its ritual at a PLACE called RITUALS... hmmmmmmm over the last 10 or so years i have been really blessed to have willing partners in the ritual we create ... davidly and tracee in the old days ( jason k at the very very beginning), a rotating cast- noting louis and atalee, and lois in the primitive phase, and now - for quite a long period of time, two albums, many van trips, and lots of friendship ... Darren, Sophie, and recently Kristin . this latter phase of the band have something very special about them. these are all people who hold the MiLkBabY Ritual very dear who have taken on the task of participating in something, keeping something alive, that they didn't originally create. they knew that they were not david or tracee or barry and some people might hold that against them. they love this thing, this MiLkBabY, that they experienced as an audience for years and now have been keeping it alive for years with their spirits, Darren, Sophie, and Kristin's, regardless of the size of the house, payment, or the fickle feelings of their leader. the cared about the ritual ... well, the fickle leader says that it is TIME TO GET BACK TO THE RITUAL... will YOU, be so kind to join us??
