As you can imagine, I've been getting a lot of e-mails and messages about this "retirement" issue and I think I may have been misunderstood.

Let me clarify something... this is NOT about walking away from music or "giving up" AT ALL! Yes, the music industry is difficult but I have NEVER been one to back down from a challenge. This decision has nothing to do with adversity. It is merely a personal decision to redirect my focus from being a solo artist to leading my band (Soulcentric) in some new endeavors. I won't stop singing or performing, but the "solo artist" image is just not where my heart is.

I believe God put me here to use my creative gifts and I plan on doing so until my last day on earth. However, the way in which I use those gifts must be one that makes me happy, as well as those who enjoy my music. For the sake of true happiness, among other very personal reasons, I believe that's it's best for me to take this new road and build from the impact I have made with my solo efforts. I enourage you to stay supportive of all independent artists and that still includes me... a brotha still has to eat! LOL
