This is a Clog. Geddit? Cat-Blog. Talk about being a cool cat eh? My human, Steve Swindells, is an even cooler cat than me, and he's only human! I'm now handling all the Euro-PR for DanMingo. http://www.theconnectionforum.com are taking of North America. They're on MySpace too - check my BESTEST friends!
As the lead singer in that bunch of old f**kers DanMingo, Steve's asked me to write a CLOG to get my ever-growing ARMY of fans to vote for DanMingo in the NME's BREAKING BANDS online comp. My fave rockin' humans are already number 40 most-voted-for, but I want them to WIN to fight the endemic AGEISM (after all, I'm around 50 myself... in cat-years. And look how beautiful I am!) that is ever-present in music/fashion/film/TV/media/the arts... GRRR! Need I go on?
You can hear DanMingo's complete Leap Of Faith (what an apt title in this cruel, ageist world!) album on MY myspace, or Jon Moss's, or Steve Swindells'... just have a listen puuurrrlease! It's hot! That's why so many humans are voting for it! They've had over 50,000 (well, they will have tomorrow) plays on www.isound.com/danmingo - talking of which - you can hear it right now!
Just select any track below and press play. Simple! There are five free downloads too. How cool is that? Purrrrrrrrrr. Here you go...

iSOUND.COMThen click the NME banner below and register - it only takes a minute - and make a comment, which counts as a vote. Thanks. There are also 4 songs to listen to. Purrrrfect!

Also, in what can only be described as a deliciously spontaneous, yet spooky, piece of spacey PR synchronicity, Steve Swindells, my multi-talented human, just co-won the Wrangler-sponsored WANTED photo competition on Dazeddigital, the website of uber style-bible Dazed & Confused. Hows THAT for guerrilla advertising AND anti-ageism eh? So he's being whisked-off to Stockholm next weekend to see the exhibition featuring his work. His winning digital photo is called Totem Tree and features former Hawkwind singer Ron Tree, taken at rehearsals for the infamous Hawkestra reunion concert which took place in October 2000 at a sold-out Brixton Academy, and featured most of the former Hawks (those who are still alive, LOL) including my human, Lemmy from Motorhead (he sang Hawkwind's mega-hit Silver Machine, you see) and DanMingo guitarist Jerry Richards. That's where SS and Jerry met. The rest is history. Sort of.
Once a DEMOCRATIC agreement is reached by ALL the ex-Hawks who performed at the HAWKESTRA concert, the high-quality digital audio and video recordings of the show will be released from the lawyers, I'm told. This will no doubt lead to the Hawkestra concert being released as a DVD and CD and becoming the best-selling Hawkind live recording EVER. So there *($+*%()£)@! You know who you are. Do you actually enjoy ruining everything for everyone - including yourself? You wrote, or co-wrote, most of the songs anyway (apart from Shot Down In The Night, by my human) - so you'll make LOADS more money than everyone else from the publishing. Doh! And you REALLY should have kept Ron Tree as lead singer - especially now he's got new teeth and will be featured in the WANTED exhibition all over Europe. Oh, and he's a real star and a great singer too. The new Bob Calvert really. Here's the link to SS's winning shot on Dazeddigital (Trivia fact: Jefferson Hack, the publisher of Dazed & Confused is Kate Moss's baby father, as it happens).

More PR tie-ins. Jerry Richards (www.myspace.com/earthlab), DanMingo's brilliant guitarist, also has a CD out called Element, by Earth Lab, which not only features all of DanMingo on one track, but also features my human and the aforementioned Ron Tree both singing some seriously good songs. PR? You bet. You couldn't make it up, could you? Miaow Ciaow for now! JJ X
