In the last couple weeks we have received a ton of messages regarding our "Stop Religion" shirts. To help clear up the confusion, Eric explained the meaning behind the shirt, hopefully this can clarify everyone's confusion.
"In regards to questions about our Stop Religion shirt. There have been multiple questions from different people, all who have different religious beliefs and for some a lack of religious beliefs. But most can be summed up with one over arching question. That question being:
'I thought xDeathstarx was a Christian band, and isn't Christianity a religion ?' So here is our answer to that.
xDeathstarx above all things is in favor of and fully devoted to Jesus of Nazareth.
Yes, we understand Jesus is a religious figure, BUT we do not believe Jesus ever intended to start a religion, including modern day Christianity. While Jesus was living He tore down religious constructs in light of a better way. That way is an intimate relationship with God, no religious activities required.
I do not wish to bash any Church or the Church as a whole, but some of modern Christian practice and ideals do not accurately represent who Jesus was and what He had come to do. The religious practices of Christianity have done extreme amounts of damage to people and to there impression of who Jesus was. I have been guilty of this and I apologize to anyone who has been hurt by my ignorance. We want to see good things for ALL people.
