Hey friends,

Our next show is at the Tiger Lounge in Georgetown. The venue is a former residence converted into a bar. They have vintage pinball and a large outdoor patio. We'll be playing with Mars Accelerator, who I am really excited to be playing with. I remember when they first came out it was about the same time that Built to Spill and Modest Mouse came on to the scene and I thought they fit right in there with those bands. It should be a rocking show! The good news for you is, no cover! This is a great show for free! You just have to find it at 4th Ave. S. and Orcas on Friday the 13th of November.

Playing drums with us for the first time this show will be Mark D. West, a talented visual artist and musician. He made the cool poster for the show! Jason Hatch will be doing his fourth show on bass with us, and he being a player in the pinball scene, maybe we'll get a good turn out of mod pinball wizards!

Shanty Gig Report

All is well with us and the Shanty Tavern. They were extremely gracious with us and just down right good people who are trying to do right by the bands. The old Shanty is well cared for, clean and friendly for what most would expect to be a sketchy dive. They have devoted the lion's share of the room to the bands, and there is even an old dance floor recently exposed. The biggest surprise was to see they had a newly installed sound system set up by Jim Anderson of Chop Suey/ the old Croc. 4 wedges, decent sized mains plenty of mics and stands, plus lights. Lots of natural wood in the place, good acoustics. So bands, good place to set up a show, fans good place to go. Hope to do set up another show there in the near future.

The Central Report

Musically we had a great show and the crowd was large and responded to our set in a big way. It was awesome. My friend Stphen Spickard got some great pictures that I posted.

My mistake was thinking we were going to make some money with the size of the crowd. But apparently the Central takes $300 out of the door for sound and door men! Then there was some of the fuzziest math I've heard in a while to follow that. Did I mention cover was $10 bucks? One of the bands sold a bunch of advance tickets so they made out okay (this may be where some of the vagueness happened). They gave the three bands $100 from the door. To split three ways. The place was packed as well, the sound guy kept saying "This is a really good Friday night, lots of people."

Anyway, on some level I was like, it's the Central, what do you expect. The sound system there is hammered, half the monitors were out, short on mikes and stands, lame. Hey, Central! CARE MORE! And treat the bands better, in the end you only screw yourself. That venerable old venue where I have so many good musical memories deserves better!
