So I've decided that the most responsible thing to do is to re-home Toby. I've been feeling so guilty about keeping him here- he must feel like a prisoner because he definitely doesn't have enough room, has no interaction with other turtles, or even fish at this point and I just feel like he must be terribly bored and lonely. And whatever with anyone that thinks I'm wrong for placing "human emotions" on a turtle. I just feel like his life isn't what it should be here. I wish I could afford to get him a larger tank, and that I had the room here to fit a tank as large as he'd need.. (F.Y.I. If you're thinking of adopting a turtle....they get big. Think long & wide.)

But I also feel guilty for giving him up and "abandoning" (my term) him. So I'm going to try to find him the perfect place, which hopefully will be easier than it sounds. I've placed a few calls to nature centers and the kids science museum around here. Just trying to make sure he doesn't become forgotton or anyone else's meal wherever he goes!

If you have any suggestions, feel free to share. Please don't bash me for having "owned" an "exotic" species though. I'm trying to do the right thing.
