Sri Lankan government has been deliberately lying to the outside world about the number of civilians within the safe zone. Three months ago there were around 350000. 190000 have already left the safe zone which means there are still 160000 left there. But the government is telling the world that there are only 15000.

This brings real fears in the minds of the Tamil community that the Sri Lankan government is going mass murder Tamils and tell the world that they haven't done anything. There are reliable reports that the Sri Lankan forces have used chemical weapons against the rebels and civilians recently and killed more than six hundreds just in a single day. Sri Lankan forces had even burned all the bodies of the victims therefore this has raised a real suspicion among the Tamils about the intention of Sri Lanka in lying to the world about the number of people in the safe zone.

While killing hundreds of innocent Tamils daily, some of the ministers from the jumbo cabinet of Sri Lanka, travel around the world with their dry clean suites to convince the world that they are wiping out terrorism. They deny all the atrocities that are being committed against innocent children and women. Sri Lankan government is spending substantial amount of money to spread false propaganda in the western world to justify their actions.

Killing fields of Sri Lanka

Only country in the world that regularly bombs and kills it's own citizens. Obviously, they are failing from their responsibility to protect the vulnerabl

This is one of the greatest jokes by a democratic government who is wiping out a race from the face of this earth in the disguise of humanitarian operation and liberation.

As part of the so called humanitarian and rescue operation, Sri Lankan forces surrounded an area that is much bigger than greater London and bombed and destroyed all the hospitals, schools, orphanages and old people homes. They destroyed farms, fruit trees and the cattle belonging to the people who have lived there for years. They dropped cluster bombs and killed so many thousand innocent people including children, women and old people.

Wounded mother is still determined to feed her hungry baby

They forced people into starvation and made them to live in tents and bunkers for months. All this was, according to them, just to catch or kill few hundreds LTTE fighters that are living among more than three hundred thousands of innocent Tamil civilians.

Sri Lankan forces are not firing into the safe zone

Although, reporters and journalists are not allowed into the war zone, there are still ICRC, local aid organizations and other Christian charities working among the people. Deaths, that are taking place in the war zone are regularly documented with picture and video evidences and transmitted via the satellites to the outside world. Several web sites are regularly blogging and journaling the war crimes in Sri Lanka.

Father running to save the life of his child

Sri Lankan government will not be able to escape from the crimes, it is committing against the innocent Tamils in Sri Lanka. Many Tamils who live outside Sri Lanka have lost their loved ones in the hands of the Sri Lankan forces. Evidences documented from the eye witnesses, fully suggests that Tamils are killed in hospitals, schools, tents, bunkers and open grounds by the rockets and shells fired by the Sri Lankan forces. They are also using cluster bombs and phosphorous bombs against innocent civilians.

Some Tamils did choose to go into the barbed wired camps run by the government not because they have any trust in the government. Sri Lankan government is deliberately preventing food and medicine reaching to the needy in the safe zone. Civilians are killed daily by bombs and shells. Some Tamils think that they might probably survive longer and get treatment for their wounds if they go and live in the camps. Many have later regretted of making this choice as there are reports of rape and murder in these notorious camps.

People are not allowed to meet their relatives. Young men and women are filtered out and taken for questioning, but many of them don't return. Diseases are spreading inside the camps as the people don't have access to clean water.

We don't use food and medicine as the weapons of war

According to the reports coming from the medical sources in Vanni, thousands of people could have been saved if they had the necessary treatments and medicine. Doctors still have to amputate hands and legs without anaesthesia under the trees. Caesarean operations are done without pain relief.  Many are dying without antibiotics.

Civilians are treated in open grounds, Surgeries are carried out without anaesthesia

People are shelled and killed even when they are lining up to collect food for their babies at the hospitals. Recent reports suggest that children are dying of malnutrition in Vanni. What else the Sri Lankan government has to say about these horrific crimes?

The man who is leading the military operation had said to the Canadian media recently, that Sri Lanka is the land of the Sinhalese, and Tamils can only live under their mercy. Unfortunately there is no more mercy left in the hearts of these military leaders so they have decided to eliminate Tamils in the disguise of a greatest humanitarian operation.

Child wounded in chemical attack

Sri Lanka is now slowly breaking it's ties with the West because they don't like to be criticized for the worst human violations in the country. They are now maintaining close links with China, Iran, Libya, Pakistan and other countries that have poor records for human rights.

Killing fields of Sri Lanka are functioning well with the help of cluster bombs, phosphorous bombs and other chemical weapons that are freely given by these countries. Sri Lanka also receives financial support from their current allies.

I'm glad you are exposing this...thanks for your bravery.  You should check out this film, at least the last hour of it, to see how long global eugenics (population control) has really been the goal of the global rulers...And how they are still working towards it...

....Dearest M.I.A & Benjamin may I thank you for reporting on what is going on in Sri Lanka. The atrocity and genocide of the minority Tamil peoples has been blurred and under reported due to the propaganda purveyed by the Sri Lankan government to the mass media. The indiscriminate shelling, use of chemical weapons, murder of innocent civilians whilst telling the world "We're cleansing our shores of terrorism" is not a war on terror but a war of indescribable brutality.

Tamils have no chance of an equitable and fair existence in Sri Lanka where the government terrorises a minority and forces them into a mould their ethnic makeup, beauty and history will not fit. The Tamil people are individual as I am to the next woman, man or child. It's with this beauty of difference the world develops and not only tolerates but in time accepts and embraces. The Sri Lankan government with it’s genocidal agenda and dirty money will currently not accept this and this will be detrimental to the safety of Tamils living in Sri Lanka.

Tamils outside of Sri Lanka will have to step up to the plate and make their voices heard. Please do not think this is the end of a struggle. Women, children and innocent men require the knowledge there are people in the outside world watching, and making their voices heard. Tamils within Sri Lanka will repeatedly have their voices and wishes suffocated by the Sri Lankan government. We as human beings living in relative democracy must look at their pain, try to comprehend their fears and make the world hear of the suffering and injustice............... ..........The Sri Lankan government must allow international aid to the minority Tamils. Bernard Barrett from the Red Cross has stated that the Red Cross have not been allowed access to evacuate the sick, provide aid and food. This is making an exceptionally awful situation even worse............... ..........The Sri Lankan government must allow international news agencies into the country. A Sri Lankan embassy official stated on the BBC that journalists were not allowed in for their own safety during the fighting. Now that the government has claimed “victory” news agencies must be allowed in and be able to report FREELY............... ..........The UN sent their envoy Vijay Nambiar to assist with ceasefire talks between Sri Lanka and the LTTE. Is the UN moronic sending Nambiar?!! His brother is a paid consultant to the Sri Lankan Army. A clear conflict of interests and one which proves that the members of the UN have their own agenda.............. ..........The Tamil minority need to be on an equal footing with the Singhalese majority in terms of jobs, education, aid, land and of course that true beauty we in the west more often than not take for granted… HUMAN RIGHTS...............

Thank You for posting this! With all the misinformation out there this is so important. It just makes me angry and sad. It's all part of the war on poor people that is happening everywhere. I know that there is much more to it then this but when it comes down to it , it is just about getting rid of people who are in the way. Look what the U.S. is doing in Afghanistan.

It's unbelievable what outrageous things are going on in the same world I live in today. This blows my mind- concerns me and makes me want America to get involved somehow. Awareness and compassion for this kind of conflict is what is most important in countries that have the ability to influence (maybe) how the SL government is handling right now. I guess we have gotten overinvolved (and for ulterior motives) in the past with other situations, but this really is a country in need of an intervention, as their own government is massacring them and telling us everything is fine. Outrageous... exposure is key. Keep talking about this stuff Maya

If there is anyway possible, please please tell me how I can help.  Do you know of any organizations that are reliable and trustworthy of volunteer work?
While the World focuses on other evnts, this is our generations terror.  How can a goverment even be given that name when they kill their own citizens and turn a blind eye?!

unfortunately, genocide, killing of children, women, and old men will continue as long as there are humans with hands and hatred. I personally blame the ruling classes and the religious dogmatic systems in place.......none of this could happen if all the people who are working class and poor, just stood up and overpowered the governments...aint too many soldiers in the world versus the people. And for you religious idiots, the teachings you espouse are no more than words cooked up by the ruling class centuries ago to make the people feel as if there is salvations waiting, honor in turning the other cheek, and peace in saying a fuckin prayer......give me a break..as long as people use religion and helpless attitudes as a way to deal with things, the common folk of the world, in paticular, PEOPLE OF COLOR, will get it everytime...unless you get taken in by the illuminata and get big money from the corporate devils and evil institutions like churches, sports teams, and yes, record companies, and what not.......people wake up and realize that your selfpresevationist spirit-will, has slowly been melted away by hunger, war, and hoplessness, tv, junkfood, sex,liqour,drugs,clothes,etc....sacrifice your bodies and lay waste to the governments that have so few people controlling the masses...............that is all....out
