Movie Review: Why Did I Get Married? The standard for Black Films has been set with "Why Did I Get Married?" as the film brought in 21.5 million it's first weekend and sits at 1 at the box office. Check out my review below on this wonderful film.
Hot Dog and soda in hand, I turned to my right to ask him where we should sit, a question I always ask. Yet this time he wasn't to my right, nor my left, then I remembered I told him he could stay home and work while I go to see Tyler Perry's "Why Did We Get Married?". So I chose a seat, took off my coat, and devoured my hot dog. Mustard dripped on my shirt and I waited for him to start laughing, but the only sound I heard were there loving whispers of couples around me. At that moment I knew the answer for myself of "Why Did I Get Married?"; of why I plan on getting married. My purpose for seeing the film was to just write a review but I ended up walking away with so much more than just a review in mind. The movie allowed me to walk away with a better understanding of the tools and dedication it takes to sustain a solid and functional relationship.
Tyler Perry hit home with this movie for a lot of couples, even those not married. "Why Did I Get Married?" shined light on the key principles of relationships through the trials of the couples in the movie. Patricia (Janet Jackson) and husband Gavin (Malik Yoba) were the perfect couple in the movie. Well it appeared they were the perfect couple until their lack of communication was exposed when Patricia found out that Mike blamed her for the accidental death of their son. Selfishness was evident in the relationship between Terry (Tyler Perry) and his wife Dianne (Sharon Leal). Dianne was so career driven that Terry and their daughter had to make an appointment for mommy time. Terry wanted another child yet Dianne didn't want to compromise.

Foxy Brown Placed In Solitary Confinement
The staff at the Rose M. Singer facility, however — where Brown has been jailed since August 22 before her sentencing— don't seem to be as patient. The rapper's manager, Chaz Williams of Blackhand Entertainment, confirmed to MTV News that Foxy has been ordered into solitary confinement, although he did not confirm some details that the New York Post reported on Wednesday (October 23).
The paper said Foxy is set to remain in solitary for 76 days due to three separate infractions that occurred over the past 30 days, according to a source. The first of the three incidents that Brown is being disciplined for occurred October 3, according to the Post, when the rapper and another female inmate got into a scuffle that had to be broken up by prison officials. The next day, Brown was accused of verbally assaulting officials and refusing to take a mandatory drug test.
(The infractions do not include her recent late arrival to a court date in Brooklyn. She allegedly refused to leave her cell until she'd changed into a different outfit and applied makeup, leading her to miss a bus scheduled to transport her to the courthouse. She then refused to leave the facility without eating lunch first.)
The Department of Correction reviewed matters and placed the rapper in "punitive segregation." She is only permitted to leave for one hour each day to see visitors, meet with her attorney or partake in a limited number of recreation options. The other inmate involved in the fight was given 11 days of solitary confinement.
A call placed to the Department of Correction by MTV News did not confirm whether Foxy (real name: Inga Marchand) was placed in solitary confinement. Her lawyer, New York State Senator Jack Sampson, was unavailable at press time, according to a representative at his office.

Halloween used to mean beating underclassmen with flower socks and egging our annoying neighbors windows. Now as we get too old to go from door-to-door, we're going whore-to-whore with the holiday's sluttiest getups. We showed you the infamous Anna Rexia costume, but if your chick-of-the-moment is too self conscious to rock that costume, here's some more options that bring out her inner promiscuity.

Denzel Washington is featured on the cover of the November issue of Men's Vogue and talks Malcolm X to Training Day to American Gangster. "I like seeing other people do well. I think that's why I coach and work with kids," he says.
"Maybe it's because of where I am at this point in my life. 'Cause I'm straight, I'm cool. Coming from the theater, I never thought I would be where I am. I never wanted it." Read the full article at MensVogue.com.
XXL Decade of Dominance
Having retired a year-and-a-half ago from his day job as the greatest rapper alive (you can imagine how boring that could get), Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter has been putting his focus elsewhere of late. On top of his co-ownership of Roc-A-Fella Records, Rocawear clothing, the 40/40 Club and Armadale Vodka, he signed a major sneaker deal with Reebok and took a minority stake in an NBA franchise, the New Jersey Nets, which he plans to help relocate to his home borough of Brooklyn.
But early this year, the world got perhaps its best look yet at the intelligence that Jay-Z has. Folks have been predicting the dissolution of the Roc-A-Fella empire since 2002. That summer, while he was on a yacht in the Mediterranean—the first real vacation he'd ever taken, he said—his longtime partner Damon Dash fired a slew of staffers and announced the promotion of an old Harlem cohort, the rapper Cam'ron, to vice president. Jay vetoed the move when he got home, and the rift became public. Over the next year, rumors spread that Jay was leaving the Roc—and its joint-venture agreement with Def Jam Records—to start a new label, S. Carter Records, under Warner Bros. Music (Warner Bros. having recently been taken over by Jay's friend and mentor, former Def Jam chief Lyor Cohen.)
