Current mood:  thankful
Please don't go broke for Christmas. We pay a big price for a momentary smile on christmas morning. If you overspend for the gifts, the entire next year will be stressful if you can't afford to go out or to pay your bills on time...Humm!? If you love your family be sure to give them your time.

Thank you. That is so true. My thoughts exactly. As long as we know the TRUE meaning of Christmas, we should be giving love and fellowshipping with one another. Be blessed and Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to you as well.

I'm in full agreement! I would much rather someone want to spend some time with me, go to a movie, to eat or just sit at home and visit. Gifts are great, but...I'd much rather have my friends or families attention and them then some material gift..maybe it's because I've never really gotten a great gift! Kidding. Really, their time, smile and a hug, very important.

Merry Christmas my Brother from another mother...same Father though!

Rick

You're right. There's nothing wrong with giving, but be wise

Yes this all true, but the true is that its not even about going broke because if you remember the reason for the season then you won't be broke cuz "JESUS" was the greatest gift all. Which should bring a everlasting smile. God Bless

I just had to respond to this and give my testimony as a parent.

I work fulltime and always had a second job or in school. Time with my chidren was always a challenge. The most beautiful request for Christmas came from my children. When I asked my son what he wanted for Christmas he replied you dont have to get me anything he said I just want to be home with you. My daughter who has a birthday 4 days before Christmas said there is nothing out there to buy for her. I always buy more for her birthday than I do for Christmas. This was an amazing response from them.

As a parent, you wonder if you have really taught your children values to carry them through and if you have raised them well. I do not need to wonder anymore. My time is valuable to them is that is what I am giving them.

Be Blessed

I am in agreement with that! It is a blessing just to be with your family and enjoy life. It is not about the gifts. It is about your love you have for them and the love you share knowing that they are healthy, mentally, socially and spiritually sound. That's Christmas with the Lord.

Truth,

THIS IS SO TRUE. MY 10 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAD A HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT IN WHICH SHE HAD TO WRITE ABOUT THE "TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS". THE BEST PAST OF THE ASSIGNMENT WAS THAT YOU HAD TO DISCUSS THE TOPIC WITH YOUR PARENTS. AFTER WE TALKED AND SHE DID HER REPORT, SHE TOLD ME THE NEXT DAY THAT SHE GOT A STANDING OVATION FROM HER CLASSMATES AFTER READING IT. IT'S SO FUNNY BECAUSE LATER WHEN I ASKED HER WHAT SHE WANTED FOR CHRISTMAS, SHE HESITATED TO ANSWER...ALMOST LIKE SHE WAS ASHAMED TO SAY "TOYS, TOYS, TOYS!!!. SHE A GREAT KID AND OF COURSE SHE'LL HAVE PLENTY OF PRESENTS TO OPEN ON CHRISTMAS, BUT ITS GOOD TO KNOW THAT SHE UNDERSTANDS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT. TAKE CARE AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!

You know I get tired of hearing this every year. How long have we been celebrating Christmas; I'm 62 years old, so I know we've celebrating 62 years. People know what they want to do and how much money they have to do it. they know they have bills to pay. But Christmas comes once a year; just like our birthdays, do you ever hear anyone saying don't go broke for your birthday or Thanksgiving. I understand well what you're saying. one think is for sure you can't spend what you don't have. Let people enjoy the holiday, if they want to spend their money, let them. This is the one time of the year people feel like they can splurg on their family and friends and bless them with gifts. No one has ever gone bankrupt because of Christmas or any other holiday. Yes, we have bills to pay and they will get paid just as they do every year. ENJOY THE CHRISTMAS SEASON, EAT AS MUCH AS YOU WANT, BEFRIEND AS MUCH AS YOU WANT, AND SPEND AS MUCH AS YOU WANT. WE CELEBRATE HIS BIRTH ONLY ONCE A YEAR. This is the only time of year I really get to give to my friends and family like I want to; and you know, It feels good to give; and it doesn't have to expensive. HEY, JUST ENJOY MAKING OTHERS HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!

I can associate with your blog better than you think this year!! I can't pay my bills now! Lol! So I'm not worried about "after" Christmas!! I'm just worried about before!! Lol!! It looks like "all" I have to give this year is "Time"!! Cause I don't have any money to buy anyone anything with!!!!! But I have always kept the meaning of Christmas every year. We don't do with out much. My Mom and Dad just paid for me and my two boys to go to Disney. So I think it will be a learning experience for my kids at an early age...I have already explained to my oldest it will be a tight year!! I just hope my 5 year old will be "ok" Lol!! You have a great Christmas, and God Bless!! I know we will!!

You are telling the truth on that one...I had to learn through experience a few years ago. There isn't one holiday I can think of is worth going broke over. The most important thing about X-mas to me is spending time with my family...Family love outweighs any gift that can be purchased anywhere. Nice blog!

I believe the title of headline on my page explains that all for this topic. If you are in the Independant Gospel Industry, there is economizing in the myspace group of mine. I will like the time in that group to extend your economizing in the Industry and Personal life. The best gifts can be valuable on clearance.

Amen!!! It's all about JESUS anyways. Giving thanks to HIM and letting HIM know that you love HIM for coming into this world as flesh to redeem us from sin. It's HIS birthday, not ours. I feel every church in america should have a service on Christmas day, where we just sing songs, dance, and the preacher speaks about the birth of Jesus and then we have 30 minutes of prayer and meditation time where we will talk to God and tell HIM how grateful we are that HE sent HIS son as a gift to us and just meditate on HIM and vent to HIM. Then after the 30 min. prayer and meditation comes the invitation for those to come and accept Jesus as their personnel saviour and Lord. After that.........crank up the praise party. The CRUNKNESS BEGINS!!! I feel Christ would be more pleased with that, then all of the Christmas trees, Santa Claus with the reindeers, and all of the gifts and glitter we have turned HIS day into. We've created a MESS!!! We need to put the focus back were it belongs......on JESUS CHRIST our LORD and our KING!!!! Amen.
