The Fyvie Homecoming Festival will take place in Fyvie, North East Aberdeenshire, from 28-30 August, 2009 and is one of many events taking place across Scotland during "Homecoming Scotland 2009".
2009 is the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns and Homecoming has been designed to encourage those of Scottish ancestry, expatriate Scots and those who know and love Scotland to return home and join the celebrations. (See www.homecomingscotland2009.com)
The Fyvie Homecoming Festival incorporates the annual Fyvie Folk Festival and the week-end's programme includes a folk concert with Eric Bogle and John Munro, a ballad bus tour of the area with musicians and a ceilidh on the Saturday evening. It is hoped that tickets for these and other events during the week-end will be available for purchase soon online at www.fyviehomecoming.com, but if you wish to reserve a place you can do so by emailing the organiser, Anne Iravani, at bpscotland@btopenworld.com
