Current mood: amused
What I want to rant about is the sillyness of allowing a friendship to be ruined because someone violates a double standard of yours and you decide that they are wrong and evil and not even worth making eye contact with.
This is just silly. Especially when the originally violated double standard was a horrible one at that. One I know specifically is:
"Doing things like making jokes, performing practical jokes, making fun of, or pissing off people is fine as long as you are not good friends with them or don't care about them or they aren't around."
This only breeds dissent and gossip and hatred of people you don't like, none of which help to keep the social fabric of our lives intact. Plus it just makes people look silly when they get all in a fuss because you did something to someone you know or care about or are good friends with or is around. Makes people think they have their priorities out of line. People need to know how to take a joke.
Anywho, I am just as guilty of anyone of falling to the rumor/gossip mill, and am just as guilty of playing the burn game, but I have yet to end a relationship because someone violated a silly double standard of mine. Thus said, let stones fall where they may, and to the happier people go the spoils.
Stoopid rant done. ^_^
