Blog Blog Blog Blog BLOG BLOG BLOG BLOG Blo Blo Blo B B BLOG!! CHAAAAARGE!!!!!

Ok I've opened with a baseball inspired joke. Many would say that was crap chat. Many, however, would say it was genius. You all should get together and have a fight. And the winning team get to buy me 5 presents each. And all the presents must be Wii accessories.

OK!!!!!!!

I had a birthday. 24 years of age i turned. A mighty age you might say. Others might say it was still very young. I think you should all get together and have a fight you see where this is going.. (It's the same joke as above - God you're slow.).
Anyway - for said birthday - I got a Wii. Oh yes. If anyone wants to get their ass literally kicked off then come online and play me at Mariokart. I WILL DESTROY YOU. So much so that Nintendo are considering re-naming the game, GIBSON WILL LITERALLY KILL YOU AT MARIOKART PARTICULARLY IF HE GOES KOOPA BUT HE'S ACTUALLY REALLY GOOD WITH ALL OF THEM EVEN BOWSER. It's wordy, but it's a working title.

I just wanted to say hello really. I've been getting a LOT of emails (literally three) recently about the song on my page - people wanting to hear new stuff, wanting to hear old stuff, wanting me to put up Coldplay instead - to all these people i say this -

SSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTT              IIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha! Ok, I totally don't say that. I really appreciate the people that take the time to listen to what I'm doing. And read these terrible, ghastly offerings. You are legends. But at the minute I'm preparing my album, and therefore we're having to keep a bit of a lid on the new stuff, and any old stuff that's going on the album. Just so by the time it comes out, you're all not completely sick of me!! If you're not already that is.. And Rollercoasters is a good song to keep up because it's saying thanks to all who listen! Think of it as being a bit like that weird wee page that used to come up when the BBC cocked up - the wee girl with the chalkboard and the stuffed clown doll?? Remember that!!??? Whose idea was that!??? A pervert probably.

Anyway - yes, consider it a holding page for better things to come, like Call My Bluff, or Pass the Buck, or Neighbours when it was still on the BBC. Quality programming.

In terms of writing i've been having an absolute ball. Worked with FAMOUS MAN Ryan Tedder off of OneRepublic and Halo for Beyonce and Bleeding Love for Leona, FAMOUS MAN Joe King off of the Fray, Steve THE FAMOUS MAN Booker off of Mercy for Duffy - and if you thought that was enough, which you probably did.. get this ... the other day i worked with ACTUAL MARK OWEN!!!!! Only Mark bloody Owen off of that new band Take That!!??????? I nearly shat myself. And i'm working with a new team called the Nexus. I guarantee that at least 10 songs in the Top 40 over the next year will have been penned by them! Awesome.

Righty, this is all starting to sound like shit. Starting to sound like i'm on a train to St Andrews and bored out my tits. Sounding like I literally had NOTHING better to do than sit and write total nonsense. That all may be the case, but YOU'VE just read it so what does that say about you!!!????? AY!!???? I'm literally judging you for having the time to read this more than you're judging me for having written it. So there - as Mark Owen would say, TAKE THAT!!!!!!!!

Hehehe.

Thanks for Listening, Please Come Back Soon - This is where it ends..

Happy Birthday Dave. Sounds like things are going great. you've been working with some talented people. The nexus sound interesting. The charts could do with a shake up.

I AM missing the old songs - and am looking forward to new ones - and oooo can I put your album on my christmas-wishlist (or is that too impatient of me...?)? Hmmm.. I've never been too fond of patience really (unless it comes in the form of a Take That song).

And no, I will not shut it! And neither must you ;) Keep those random blogs coming! They make my day :)

Hi Dave,

Its intriguing to follow yours and other young artists careers on here. There appear to be ‘zillions’ of different types of ‘record deals’ with labels out there – very confusing.  I’ve taken photos for a lot of ‘emerging artists’ with deals of some kind. Some seem to tour festivals and the smaller to mid size venues, road testing their songs, building an audience, improving their live performance skills and image etc etc. – that live audience vibe. Radiohead toured their ‘In Rainbow’ songs before releasing. REM played a small Dublin theatre for a week to fans. For me music is firstly a ‘live’ thing. I know the Beatles ended up returning to the recording studio but were they right to disconnect with the audience for so long –  I cant’ remember dates but their ‘Let it Be’ album not as great as earlier ones. So I hope you will be out gigging these small to mid venues, doing real gigs soon - and not only a few support slots at the SECC or other such impersonal places.

So I’m intrigued too with artists’ journeys. Some come along out of say the Orkney folk scene, play the folk circuits and establish themselves through festivals.  Some play small local venues and put their songs on myspace. Others come out of the likes of the Guildford pop/rock school and enter the London music scene as session guys or performers etc.

Just reading about Rick Rubins – there’s a guy who understands about art.

Sorry this got long here – but it is very confusing is it not?

Then again guess photographers come from different places too.

Just been a lovely break up to the bonny highlands.

I adore ‘Rollercoasters’ song – so I’m quite happy if it is on your page ! Long may it hold there!  Happy birthday!   Paulinex

PSS who on earth is voice coaching X factor this year? I don’t watch but out of curiosity watched Saturday. They’ve taken beautiful Welsh singer and tried to over bake her vocals to be Aretha?  What on earths that about?
