We're all stuck in self important bubbles oozing out our beliefs and oppressions through whatever social network we can find. If someone is different then everyone pounces on the opportunity to lash at it with their opinions ie status updates etc. Because each and every one of us must be 100% correct and know everything, after all we believe in "God" so we must BE "God". A few years ago I read an article of why Gay marriage should be illegal. Their logic was that if you let gays marry then what's next? Will we then let people get married to animals? As Ellen said in one of her stand up comedies, how do people come to such illogical conclusions? Right, so, if that is the case, then we should actually make cannibalism legal first because we eat animals, why not eat people too! Bit of a huge leap to presume if you make something legal for human beings it will automatically need to be legal for animals too. As humans we have the gift of common knowledge, logic, intelligence, problem solving skills etc etc. We have the ability to see the difference between people and animals and where their rights stand and ours should stand. And yet so many people ignore those gifts and choose to be ignorant and demand idiotic things. But it's easy for them to demand whatever they want because their rights remain untouched. I bet if we try suggest marriage for everyone should just be abolished entirely, the system should not exist any more at all. Then we'll see who starts caring! I think that if you truly love a person, then you should be able to get married to that special someone, whether it be the opposite sex, or not. Same as if you choose a certain religion other than Christianity to follow (which I am not claiming that all Christians are horrible, either.) I have met a lot of people who are genuine and people that wear their religions and lifestyles as a mask.
