Remembering Jill Phipps.
Twelve years ago today, Jill Phipps died whilst trying to stop the export of veal calves, from Coventry Airport.
Jill died under the wheels of a lorry as she protested about days old calves being driven into Coventry Airport to be flown abroad.
Jill devoted her life to try and stop all forms of animal abuse and cruelty.
She spent days and nights demonstrating at the airport, rain or shine.
Jill's life was one where she put other creatures first, before her own personal comfort.
In today's Society putting one's self first is often the norm and making money and profit at anybody's or any creature's expense is sadly, for some, an acceptable doctrine.
Jill shone out as a beacon, in a World where suffering for profit is viewed as acceptable.
She stood out as she put others before herself ; a rare and honourable woman.
Jill was not only beautiful inside, but that lovely soul radiated out from within and her smile was one of the most beautiful I have seen.
On this day many people who have been touched by Jill's compassion take time to remember her and her brave selflessness.
Jill lives on, not only in the son she left behind, but because her life and actions have affected many animals and people and this World is a better place for knowing a soul such as hers.
This day is the anniversary of the day that Jill died but every single day of the year gives us an opportunity to live, like Jill did, a compassionate and caring life.
Rest Peacefully Beautiful Jill.
Jill Phipps 1964-1995.
