It was muddy as all hell and I didn't much care for the reshuffling of the Local Stage and the food court, but End Of The Road 2008, was, somewhat unsurprisingly, an exercise in joy. Highlights include;

a) The Ackron Family's hippie love-in, complete with death metal insert toward the end and that cute little "Circle-Triangle-Square-Yeah-Yeah-Yeah-Yeah" routine. Cool beards too.
b) Hot spiced cider; like that comedian dude said - a cross between a warm hug and a punch in the head.
c) The Chap's electro punk-funk, plus their drummer was literally Animal from The Muppets.
d) Adventures in the enchanted forest, including dancing at the lit-up disco and yours truly busting out an impromptu Justin Timberlake cover on the ukele, attracting a mahoosive singalong crowd from seemingly out of nowhere in the process.
e) aPAtT's nu-Devo shenanigans.
f) High-priced but incredibly lush foodery; the baby-back ribs in home-made BBQ sauce were a particular delight.
g) Zombie-Zombie rocking some sick electro horrorcore in the Big Top on Sunday night. Brains!
h) Josie Long's mentally unstable stand-up on Sunday afternoon. Laughter truly is the best medicine.
j) Sunday night/Monday morning's epic climax at The Bimble Inn. A tent rammed with hundreds all singing along to the Pixies' 'Where Is My Mind' is pretty much as good as it gets.
k) Laughter, smiles and late night joy with the party posse, namely; Louise, Danielle, Marcia, Angela, Elaine, Crinan and special guest Donna. I wuv you guys.

Here's to the next one! In the meantime, I'm gonna kill some more wookies....

PS Note to self: Pop-up tents are the work of Satan.
