New York: So we are super-excited to be playing CMJ this year at a place called Local 269 on Friday Oct. 23rd. Please come see us if you live in the area, or tell your friends. We'll also be playing some shows in the surrounding area. Currently Chapel Hill and New Jersey, but check back for additions.
New Songs: We'd love to see you this coming Saturday (oct. 10th) @ Beauty Bar. We'll be trying out two brand new songs at the show, plus a super-secret cover that you don't want to miss. Not to mention that we are playing with the amazing One Hundred Flowers. Come out if ya can.
News: We've been busy. We have two great new additions to the band; Jimmy Rhea on guitar, and Rachel Samartin on vox/synth. We are releasing a 7"inch on Nov. 21st at The Ghost Room with two-brand new songs. Spirit World, which sounds like a summertime combination of The Cars and Love and Rockets, and Southern Charmer which is a B-side off our debut record that didn't get finished in time.
If that wasn't enough, Adria, the first song off our forth coming EP entitled 'As Meninas', will be available for free download very soon. The EP contains four songs written about girls, and harkens back to a simpler time of songwriting in the style of Rita The Meter Maid, Roxanne, Lola etc... it incorporates a lot of soul/r&b/and old-time rock, and is a lot of fun. Each song will be released as finished on our website at www.thegreatnostalgic.com
