Psych-folk Music, free spirit, one-man band, one more boring machine, Marco Bernacchia, aka Above the Tree, second full-lenght release, is our key guy here for leading an impressive lysergic orchestra of acoustic sounds, percussions and sampling, - weaving hypnotic carpets and mantra such as Go Home, Paparinski, Gli Oggetti (where Jennifer Gentle is not that far), with noisy, obsessive and bluesy breaks (70% of Hate, Hallo Winter), alternated to calmer bucolic fugues (Bunny in Love).
I
no wonder if He'd come out with a bizzare song like featuring just
bellowing cows, and i'm sure that it would sound great and even
touching. Cows can be really sensitive.
A psychedelic breakfast such it's Silent Song fits perfectly for a split release with Tocqueville,
- and it's all about that sort of lo-fi music happiness, creative,
dazed and brilliant at the same time, - where it starts from
Bernacchia's bedroom and it gets to your stereo, making flying the
books off your bookcase, swirling and tuneful twittering, while gentle
dancing big men will suddenly come and offer You an elegant white
strait-jacket.
Last but not least, the CD packaging is worthy a note: it is handmade, with a cut-out heart, pretty nice.

al secondo disco, è il nostro uomo chiave per guidare una notevole
orchestra lisergica di suoni acustici, percussioni e sampling, -
tessendo tappeti ipnotici e mantra quali Go Home, Paparinski, Gli Oggetti (dove Jennifer Gentle non è troppo lontano), con rumorose, ossessive pause blueseggianti (70% of Hate, Hallo Winter), alternate fughe più calme e bucoliche (Bunny in Love).
Non
mi meraviglierei se se ne uscisse con un qualche pezzo bizzarro, dove
che ne so, figurano solo mucche e muggiti: - sono sicuro che ne
uscirebbe qualcosa di bello, e anche commuovente. Le mucche sanno
essere davvero sensibili.
Una colazione psichedelica quale Silent Song sarebbe perfetta per fare uno split con i Tocqueville,
- e tutto fa parte di quella sorta di felicità da Musica lo-fi,
creativa e trasognata, brillante allo stesso tempo, - parte dalla
cameretta del Bernacchia e finisce sul Vostro stereo, Vi farà volare i
libri fuori dalla libreria, li guarderete volteggiare nell'aere
cinguettanti, mentre degli omoni danzanti e gentili Vi offriranno
un'elegante camicia di forza.
In ultimo, non da meno, - il packaging
del CD merita una nota: è fatto a mano, con la parte del cuore
ritagliata, - molto carino.
