"Free"-for you...
I decided to try something different for me-to share with those of you who care to listen (and read). Over the past couple of months, I started songwriting-again...(You might already know that my full length LP "Living My Life Out Loud" has been officially released-not so long ago-and everything that has gone on around the project has been a sort of magical experience for me-putting myself so "hands on" with it all.) It has taught and shown me a lot about people, this business, and especially myself.
I now feel a bit surprisingly compelled to put something out there-in "this" sort of fashion-which brings me to the song now available to listen to on my Myspace. The song is called "Free". I call 'this' type of recording 'very rough'-for many reasons. (Partially-because the vocal and mix are what they are-a sort of "one take" if you will...No frills...no fuss...and also, in part because these types of songs for me to write/perform-are always a bit 'rough' for me to 'feel'. Anyone who knows me-or even has seen me perform these types of songs live-knows what I am talking about and even more so, anyone who has has felt or is 'feeling' something similar or going through something similar right now while reading/listening to the song -will understand...)*If you are truly 'feeling' this song, I would gladly give you one of my kleenex, btw...
I want to thank JamBox Recording Studio in NYC for allowing me to come in for a few short hours and to Drew, my engineer on this session and Lauren for being there at the studio-even though we barely said a word...
