Right now a lot of rumors are going around about what is up with Steps to Lydia. Some people think that we have broken up. I'd like to clarify everything that has been kind of murky lately:
Sam:
As many of you know, Sam was one of the founding members of Steps to Lydia. At the end of December Sam let us know that he was going to leave the band to pursue other things in his life. He is currently working at 2 different bars and expecting to tour Europe sometime this Spring. The parting of ways was on good terms and Sam remains a best friend of Steps to Lydia. Check out what he's up to here.
Scott:
On January 13th, Scott and the remaining members of the band decided to part ways. He got a job a few months ago at a piercing shop and has been working his way up the ladder there steadily ever since. It was in the best interest of everyone involved to split.
New members:
We currently have a very nice prospect for a new drummer and will begin practicing with him shortly. If everything works out with him, we will definitely keep everyone up to date. We would like to add a second guitarist eventually, but are not actively seeking one at this time. We will however, be happy to take a look at any inquiries and recommendations about the position.
Shows:
The Wow Hall informed us a few weeks ago that they would not need any local openers for the Amber Pacific show on February 2nd because Terminal was added to the show. The rest of the shows have been cancelled as well due to the fact that we have no drummer or second guitarist at this point, and we apologize to anyone looking forward to seeing us and hope you keep us in mind int he future when we get back on our feet. The spring tour was also cancelled and will be put off indefinitely until we know we are ready to tour again.
New music:
David has been writing and stowing songs for the last few months. Over the next few weeks, we will begin to develop these songs together and will eventually flesh them out with full band demos that will be made available online as soon as we finish them. I have heard many of the new songs, and I can promise you that if you like our latest demos, then you will love what we are working on right now.
We can not thank enough the people that called, e-mailed, or IMed us with their concerns and wishing us the best of luck. Without people there to motivate us and believe in us, me and David would have a hard time getting back on our feet. If anyone has any questions or comments, your best bet would be to get a hold of me on my personal account, myspace.com/chrislucia.
Love,
Chris Lucia
