The times beautiful Bert came to Peoria and stayed with me will always be some of my fondest memories.The shows were always nutty, chaotic,and hilarious ,filled with the most energized punk rock I ever experienced.The best parts were just hanging out with Bert after the shows Tokin massive amounts and shootin the bull.The first time I ever met him he came down and played a show with 10-96(rip Dean Dirt) in Bloomington;we went back to my place and had one of the best ,craziest parties of all times.Bert sat on my toilet and it broke in half.We all became brothers that night;Dean Dirt gave me the 10-96 banner that still flies in Skab studios to this date.The last time Bert stayed with me;I don't remember exactly what happened:but him and a couple of his band mates got left behind;so I let them stay with me for a couple days while we raised bus fare for them to get back to Kenosha.I gave Bert some of my clothes since we were close in size and I gave him a brown leather coat and a brown leather hat.He looked like a supersized Indiana Jones.The memory of me and Bloody getting to perform Bert's song wild in the seventies with him in Milwaukee right before the Sex Pistols went on will probably never be topped. I'll miss my punk rock brother but I'll never forget him.Gabby Skab
