I'll have to admit when I walked in the Moose lodge for Wapaks class of 1993 15 year reunion and saw approx 50-60 people(yes, thats including spouses) I figured it was going to be a LONG EVENING and my scheduled stop time of midnight couldn't get here soon enough even though my youngest sibling Mandy graduated in this class and I knew quite a few people.
It was a long night but one that didn't end until the Moose staff kicked everybody out at 1am(yes I ended up playing a hour later than scheduled) it turned out to be a great party! I'll have to give credit to Heather and Becky for getting the party started, they were the first two out on the dance floor and between Beckys Napoleon Dynamite impression and Heathers incredible energy it ignited the rest of the class and made my job a piece of cake..Thanks girls!!!
I tried to mix up the music and threw in some 90s stuff from their years..some went over better than others "baby got back" is a staple,"informer" by snow over well as did "no more lies" by Mich'ele throw in the new music and the dancing didn't stop until they kicked us out!! Hell, My sister even danced but it wasn't until the next day she confessed to me she didn't recognize half the songs she danced to! Come on sis ,get with it! haha Mandy...did you really think I wouldn't have "7" by Prince? The dude is a little strange but a musical genius in my book and I've get em all!
I'll try to do a roll call of who I can remember shakin it on the dance floor but things got a little foggy towards the end of the evening(an alcohol induced fog mind you) Mike and Mandy,Becky and Chad,Jackie and Chad,Mandy and brother in law Jason(I knew Eminem would get him out there) congrats on the Texas hold em win man,Heather and MC Michelle(excellent mic work girl),Jody,Melinda,Nikki,Connie, and quite a few more that I didn't know or have forgotten! sorry! I think I even saw my roadie Mike Beam dancing it up with the class at one point!
I have started to Ramble so I'll end by saying thank you to the class of 93 for having me and for a great evening and to those of you that didn't attend...Your loss and shame on you! Hope to be back to see you all in 5 years or sooner!! Oh on a completly different subject I'm watching tv as I'm writing this...Is it just me or does the show "Americas got Talent" seem like a glorified version of the 70s gong show?
