The film No Reservations staring Catherine Zeta-Jones (Academy award winner for Chicago) as a great chef who adopted her 8 to 11 year old niece who has lost her parents. From the preview, I didn't have high hopes for the film but maybe a diamond in the rough or just a pleasant surprised amongst the 2007 summer titans. Though this film lacked the sufficient plot to deliver a strong romantic comedy. The script, direction and characterization tries to make up for it short-comings. The story(remake), which is made up of heart warming subplots that are solved as the movie progresses is a decent one. Its only deficiency is lack of an overall strong storyline.
Director Scott Hicks (Hearts of Atlantis and shine) did what he does best, made his characters easy to relate to and very lovable. I really liked each of the characters in the film. Now if they could just find the script that has the plot in it, everyone can be happy.
