Who Gives Kudos:

Gjon Gegaj is arguably the best bass player in Detroit. For two years, he dedicated his craft, his art, and his soul to the music of Manna and Quail, and as a result we are a better more powerful band. The myriad-butterfly-flutterbings of his lower extremities, all-the-while with bass- not grasped, nor clutched, but held in hand, and the beatific expression of countenance that permeates his musical approach are just parts of what will make him a legend in Detroit and beyond. There are no words, no notes, no plaintive cries that can truly express our gratitude for his contribution. We will always be proud of having played with him and we are voraciously desperate to hear anything he puts out next. Raise your glass to Gegaj, the Rat King of Strings, Manna in pop musical wilderness!

I just want to say that I only got to see him perform once, but that that one performance infused in me such excitement, inspiration, and love that I'll never forget it. It was such a beautiful experience for me to see someone so visibly passionate about the music he was creating. I greatly respect anyone who isn't afraid to let their soul into the music, and who really performs on stage. I hope I get to see him play again soon!

With love to Gjon and Manna & Quail,
Amanda
