Home Sellers Tips:
- Put higher wattage bulbs in light sockets to make rooms appear brighter and larger.
- Make minor repairs – such as sticky doors, torn screens, cracked caulking, or a dripping faucet.
- Get rid of smells. Clean carpeting and drapes to eliminate cooking odors, smoke, and pet smells.
- Tidy your yard. Cut the grass, rake the leaves, trim the bushes, and edge the walk.
- Wash your windows and screens to let more light into the interior.
- Keep everything extra clean. A clean house makes a better first impression for potential buyers.
Home Buyer Tips:
- Familiarize yourself with mortgage loans. Find a lender that you are comfortable with.
- Keep your credit card purchases at a minimum. Use them responsibly.
- Talk to your Realtor about getting pre-approved for a home loan.
- Pay off your small bills and always make timely payments on revolving accounts.
- Avoid making large purchases. Increased debt reduces the amount of monthly income available.
- Select a qualified real estate agent that you feel comfortable with.
