Wow, it's been almost a month since I blogged!  And a busy month it's been... I spent several days helping out at school, went on an overnight trip to the Woodland Plantation, finished the realtor CEU writing project for my brother, got Gustav food stamps, and so many other things...

The Woodland Plantation is in West Point A La Hache, LA.  At first glance it seem to be small for a plantation but wait until you walk inside!  Or onto the back gallery!  The view is beautiful, the grounds are impeccable, the hospitality is the epitome of southern graciousness, the food is amazingly delicious, and the staff is delightful.  The history of this plantation is rather surprising as well.  I would strongly recommend the boat tour as well.

Lost another big freezer plus the refrigerator/freezer full of food to Gustav.  Thank goodness my younger brother came over and emptied both of them within a day or two.  We are slowly replacing things like mayonaise, tater tots, frozen veggies, etc. but the grocery stores aren't having much on sale, especially meat.  They lost everything too so they have to make up their losses as well. It's understandable just difficult to cope with.  But, we will survive and thrive as always!  I still wouldn't want to live anyplace else.

The girls are doing beautifully.  They have been informed that this weekend is "parents and grandparents weekend".  They are to make NO plans with friends and will spend the whole weekend with their parents and visiting their assorted grandparents! So there!  It's an experiment.  K's grandmother rarely gets to see her but for a few minutes at a time. My parents rarely see the girls but for a few minutes or with a bazillion other people around, so I'm trying something new.  I figure for K's grandmother, maybe I'll rent a DVD and we can watch it together.  With my folks, maybe a gin rummy marathon or we can teach them to play poker like my grandmother did (my mom's mom).  Then, considering the weather, I figure Quarter time as a family will work.  No friends tagging along, no having to rush, cafe au lait & beignets followed by Mass at the Cathedral then meandering the streets...  Please wish me luck and no whining!

Hugs and Blessings to all!
