Current mood: loved
So as of late I have been busting my butt getting my ducks in a row!!!
I have managed to ignore & deflect the idiotic competition and selfish/arrogant comments tossed at some of us in our local scene. I have done this not by fighting back, but by coming together with the people that truly care about other people. That definetly shows when we play. We are genuine.
I have also focused on the bigger scheme of things. Starting this year I have been managing my gigs (solo + the 30 or so musicians I showcase with The Flying Circus), fronting the "NEW" Braided Funk, making my own fliers, keeping up with the email-s from fans, and meeting the "right" people.
For those of you who don't know we just played @ Austin's Pub & Eatery in the famous "FUEL ROOM" [ausinsaloon.com]. We opened for Unity-the band. Great turn out, about 400 people or so. The owner Ralph approached me and complemented us on a high scale. He also took my contact number and said he will be calling.
I also have been working with Tim the new agent for Brat Stop. He just happeded to be at my open jam @ 1146 Club in Kenosha and really loved the opening set we did. He too said he will be calling.
Last but not ever done....Bill Robbins from the Kenosha news contacted me and also complemented me on a high scale. He did a "Life" write-up on me in the Kenosha News February of 2002. He now wants to do an article to recap and speak of my triumphs with cancer. He said, "Right now you are one of the busiest musicians in this town if not the busiest." And with that angle it is time to get the "pat-on -the-back" I have been working, scraping, and striving to get. Things are moving fast and I only see REALLY BIG things in the future.
-Thank you all that have shared your love and support.
*PEACE TO ALL!!!
