ah the joy of the newly penned tune, there is nothing like it. and today it came, all in a rush, in the 30 minutes i had before meeting my friends for lunch.

and i'm still giddy, like the afterglow of a perfect first kiss.

these days, life feels like a new blank book, waiting to be filled with stories and adventures. i don't know what will unfold in the next chapter, but i'm on the edge of my seat, ready to find out.

The last time I saw Arlo Guthrie, he told a story about how many of his songs happened that way, all at once, like he was transcribing. He always felt like the song were out there, floating in the ether, and his job was to tune in and catch the ones meant for him. He regretted not spending more time at it, though, since many of his better ones went uncaught until more attentive song catchers ("Bob Dylan..." mutters Arlo under his breath) tapped in and caught them instead.

Excellent! It's so good to hear you sounding so positive, after reading those blogs when you didn't feel so great. Am looking forward to hearing it! And seeing you perform in the UK!
One step at a time I guess...

I don't write so much anymore, so when I do, it's a natural thing. And it always feels good because I'm not forcing myself... so they're coming from a good place.

Cheers!

I just read your newsletter e-mail about new shows coming up in VA. It's too bad you're not coming out to MD or D.C.; I'd love to come out and see you play again. It's been WAY too long!

And I can't wait to hear your new album (even though I know I'll have to)! Looking forward to hearing some new songs. :-]

well, im happy to hear that songs are still flowing out of you! I, like the others cant wait for a new album. In the mean time, im thinking about catching a plane from Louisiana to hear you play. sadly school has just started up again though, so i wont be able to for a while. damn the poor college student status! well, i hope you have fun with your shows this weekend, and i wish i could be there!
