Just a little update on my previous post. See my previous blog post for the full story if you haven't already.

Okay, so we all know how nervous I was that Grandma wanted to read Christmas Coffin, my first published erotic horror novel. Then, after sweating bullets, she called my mom to tell her she enjoyed it other than a few choice words. Mainly the "F" word that she made a point to count how many times I used it throughout the book.

Shewwww... What a relief.

I'm happy to say that she just called me, personally, to tell me she just finished reading it twice. She was tickled that she didn't find any misspelled words. Said she had to read it a second time just to make sure she didn't miss any. Low and behold, there still weren't any misspellings, lol.

Thanks, Grandma! Way to edit!

Leave it to family to pick your work apart. Aren't they great. But hey, they make the best critics.

She said this was the first time she's ever read a vampire novel, and she really liked it. Told me it was well written.
She also made sure to tell me herself that she didn't care for the "F" word being used in the book, but she didn't dwell on it. Thankfully, she loved it all the same, and never mentioned the detailed sex scenes (wouldn't that have been embarrassing? For Grandma, that is, Lol). Now, she can't wait for book two to come out. I promised her it wouldn't be too much longer. Hopefully sometime in the beginning of next year.

Right now, Destiny, from my Inside a Vampire's Mind series I'm working on, (a series that I definitely don't want Grandma to read... Yikes!) has taken over the spotlight momentarily. She wouldn't let me rest while working on book one, Eternity's Destiny, and certainly won't give me a break now. I'm pushing to get book two, Salvation, finished by the end of the year. She'll stop at nothing, including clawing my eyes out, until I finish. Can't have that, now can we? How would I write her books with no eyes? Hmmm...

Anyway, I was glowing after that one phone call today and wanted to share my joys with you.

Grandma made my day!

Hope everyone is having the Happiest of Hump days!

Love you all!

Yep, sounds like my mom, Kit. Instead of telling me what I did right, or that she loves it, she always manages to point out everything I need to work on. Even on things as simple as doing the dishes, lol. Geez! You can never live down that one dirty dish you forgot to wash. What are mothers for, right? Lol.

Thanks for commenting!

Ha-ha-ha...so cute. Reminds of my Dad, who was my biggest fan, and yet my biggest critic. I think he was my biggest fan because he was my biggest critic. He just wanted me to be the best writer I could possibly be. Can't wait to see book two in your Christmas series. Book one is on my book shelf, where it will remain 'till the end.

Awww... Thanks, Ray! That means a lot to me that you liked my book, too. Thanks for adding a review on Amazon for me. You were the first one. Yay! Did you find any misspelled words? Because you could always compare notes with Grandma, lol. Wouldn't that be funny. Luckily, my dad loves everything I do, whether he reads it, or sees it, or not. The only things he's ever critical about is politics, lol. So thank goodness I don't have a political bone in my body, lol. Gets me off the hook from being criticized by him, I guess. It's my mom who picks me apart. I used to wonder if I ever did anything right in her eyes. Or, is it just tough love? Either way, I don't worry about it too much. We will always have our critics no matter what we do. I'm heading over shortly to read your Chapter 11. Can't wait!

Yeah,my late dad was the critic in my family...whenever he didn't like something i drew he'd tell it straight with no mercy at all!  Mum's always a big fan of my art...she will always say the nicest things about my art even before she actually saw it!

Haha... Your dad sounds like my husband, who is actually my biggest critic. Yay! I get to live with mine, lol. Seems he has a hard time telling me when he likes something I do. Instead, he picks it apart like my mom would. If I wanted the one person, who is supposed to have your back on everything, pick apart everything I do then I'll go visit Mom, lol. When I work on a doll, he likes to point out how he'd do it differently. So I hand him a doll and tell him, "Here you go. Have fun with it," lol.

Your mom sounds like me, or at least what my daughters say of me. I make a big deal over every creative thing they do. My youngest always tells me, "Mom, you always like everything I do," as if she's waiting for me to find something I won't. Not likely. Their little hands made it, so of course I'll always find it all so precious, even if it's a stick figure in pencil, lol.

Thanks, Fern! The world is full of critics. Thank goodness for great, supportive friends like you!

Thanks, Lil Devil! I know, I was so excited. Apparently, I passed the spelling bee with an A+, and I didn't even know I was in the running, lol. Maybe in the future I should have Grandma edit my books for me before they're published. This way I'll know for sure there are no misspelled words before the books get into the readers hands. She'd make a great editor. And like Santa, she'd check it twice, lol. Yep, she made my day. Grandma ROCKS!

Love ya bunches!
