--Sophie's POV--
As I walked into my house my mom was standing there waiting for me.
"Was that Nick?" she asked.
"Uh huh..." I replied walking past her with my school bag still flung over my shoulder.
"He walked you home!? How sweet!" my mom grinned.
I turned around and gave her a puzzled look. "Yeah, I guess so?"
She continued to give me a big toothy smile.
"We're just friends, that's all" I told her.
She turned around and walked into the kitchen saying under her breath "Sure you are…"
I continued to walk to my room and as I passed the kitchen I yelled "You're so WEIRD!"

Nick and I are just friends, even though he gives the best hugs. And his hair is so soft and.. NO! We're just friends.
I didn't give it too much thought though, I had other things on my mind; my dad. Tomorrow is our big 'reunion'.
'What am I going to wear? What are we suppose to talk about?'
Hundreds of questions raced through my mind. I was excited to him again and he hasn't called and cancelled! 'I'm so nervous' I thought to myself, but then again, I couldn't get Nick off my mind.

--Nick's POV--
The whole night I couldn't get Sophie off my mind. I kept reenacting the moment we hugged in my head. The smell of her long brown hair; the way her soft forearms felt against mine.

"Yo, Nick. You there buddy?" Jimmy snapped in front of my spellbound face. "Look, there's your giiirrrll friend" he teased.
"What!? Where?" I perked up thinking it was Sophie. When I noticed Hannah swaying her hips in our direction my mood changed. "..oh."
"Hi Nick!" Hannah smiled in her high pitched voice.
"Yeah, nice to see you too..." Brandon chimed in.
Hannah rolled her big blue eyes at him.
"So, ready to go see the movie?" She asked me sweetly.
"Yeah, let's go in, it's about to start" I answered.
Hannah started to walk into the theatre. I walked behind her with Tyler, Jimmy and Brandon.
"Dude, she so likes you, go for it." Tyler suggested.
"Yeah man, she is totally your type" Jimmy blurted out.
I looked at him raising an eye brow "How so?"
"She's hot!" he smirked
I gave him a small chuckle. "If you think so, why don't you go out with her?"
Hannah stopped and turned around, her long blonde hair swiftly flowing to the side. "C'mon Nick, sit next to me!" she said motioning I catch up
Jimmy looked at Hannah, and then looked at me. "THAT'S why."

We all sped up to Hannah and took our seats in the theater. Naturally, Hannah sat next to me on an end. I had Jimmy on my other side.
We watched a scary movie. Living with Kevin and Joe as my older brothers; I grew up watching scary movies. They never scared me though; Joe always came up with a way to make them from horrifying to comical. Hannah on the other hand was all over me. When the 'bad guy' jumped out randomly she screamed and clung onto my arm. When someone was stabbed she buried her face lineinto my side. The whole time Jimmy kept looking over at me jealously. But I didn't feel a thing when Hannah came close to me, not like when Sophie did.
But spending my night with Hannah wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. She wasn't rude or snobby at all. She was actually really... sweet. From the stories I've heard about her, I expected her to be completely different. I heard she was backstabbing, snobby, arrogant and a complete clone of Regina George. (Mean Girls anyone?)

As the movie finished, we walked outside onto the sidewalk outside the movie theater. The five of us stood awkwardly silenced in a circle. Hannah twirled her shiny hair around her index finger. Her eyes darted at all of us, waiting for someone to start conversation.
Jimmy finally spoke up "So Hannah, you like Nick?"
I could feel my face turning red. What was my 'friend' trying to do?
Hannah looked over at me shyly. She seemed embarrassed too. I've actually never seen her embarrassed. "Oh look, there's my sister, see you guys Monday!" Hannah yelled back to us as she dashed to her sister's car.

As she drove off into the distance I swatted Jimmy.
"What the hell man?" I yelped at him.
"What?" Jimmy laughed. "It was an awkward moment, I wanted to see how much more awkward it could get"
"You're such a doofus" Brandon bellowed, giving Jimmy a swat too. "Maybe that's why Hannah likes Nick and not you, you baboon."
"Yeah, well it doesn't matter anyway, he's got other things on his mind" Jimmy uttered raising his eyebrows up and down.
I squinted my eyes at him questioning what he had said.
"What do you mean?" I inquired
All three guys looked at me dumbly.
"Oh come on, do you think we're THAT oblivious?" Tyler asked.
"Yeah," Brandon started "you're obviously head over heels for Sophie."
I stood there in shock. Was it that obvious? Do I really wear my heart on my sleeve like that? If these three guys noticed, has Sophie?
"Practically the whole grade knows how madlyyy in loooove you are with Sophie. Except maybe Liz Wantstobecanadian. That girl is so out of it." Jimmy teased.
"Even Hannah noticed. Why do you think she's finally starting to make her moves now?" Tyler added
I stood there, blankly starring at my friends. I was speechless. I didn't want to open up to my friends. We're guys; we're tough. Oh who was I kidding? I felt as soft as ice cream in the sun tonight.
"Do you guys think Sophie knows?" I asked them.
"Nope"
"She's clueless"
"No idea" they blurted out.
"Good" I answered "I don't want things to get weird between us. But she's all I can think about lately. Everything she says just seems so perfect. Everything she does just mesmerizes me. I've never felt this way about… anyone."
"I think you should tell her how you feel. Make a move" Brandon suggested.
"Oh, c'mon you girls, my dad's here." Jimmy said walking towards his dad's purple minivan.

We all climbed into the van quietly. We hardly said anything the whole car ride home. I couldn't help but think of Sophie. Tomorrow was her 'big day'. She was nervous. I wished I was there with her telling her everything would turn out fine. I just wished for... her.
