What's happenin', human family?

I'm new to this whole blogging thing, but like anything else I try for the first time, I'm just going to attack it and we'll work on it as we go ;-).

So, The Ultimate Band Page (myspace.com/theultimatebandpage) was kind enough to make me their featured artist today. Well, that was nice of them! Their page is a little different, as they only accept friend requests from bands, solo artists and official band websites. They keep hundreds of bands listed in alphabetical order so that anyone searching can locate a band or artist that has been added to their page. This not only provides artists with some decent (FREE) exposure, but it also allows individuals to perhaps be turned on to something they may not have heard before. I'm all for that!

Let's be honest, there's a lot of crap on MySpace. But once you get past the youthful (well meant) exuberance of all the "OMG-STFU-i-caN'T-beLIEve-My-EX-is-stALKing-me cliques, it's nice to know that there is still a small group of folks out there who wish to promote a feeling of community and friendship among artists. That just warms my heart *sniff*.
