Hello, human family!

This past weekend was not a glorious blur, but a memorable time spent with friends.

I want to thank everyone who not only came out to Sonny's, but stayed until 1:00 IN THE A.M. as we ended the night acoustically. You guys made it all the more fun.

I also want to thank our drummer/pilot/sometime soap actor Rick for getting me down there, and for getting himself down there! He had flight simulator training in an entirely different state, but managed to fly in with moments to spare and kick everyone's tail!

Howie's guitar playing was truly inspired that night.  I don't know if it was the fact that his lovely wife Jodie was sitting just a few feet away, or that he was merely pacing himself with the libation…..Anywhooo, the dude killed it. The audience's response to each solo says it all. The acoustic set that ended the show had such a tremendous energy to it that I can only credit our song selection and Howie's superhero picking. The audience was so attentive, and I LOVE that. During Stone Temple Pilot's "Plush", you could have heard a pin drop. I almost wanted to grab a seat myself and listen to Howie play, but alas, I had lyrics to remember!

Getting back to Rick, his drumming was just flat out sick. This guy's been dying to get behind a full set of drums, and it sounded like it Friday night. A few "you just had to be there" moments included "Take A Picture", "Times Like These" and "Communication Breakdown". I thought he was gonna bust his snare, but a great drummer does not abuse his power. He eventually shows mercy (if the kit deserves it!! ;-)).

Some of you may know that Garage Floor started out exclusively as an acoustic band. Aside from a few rehearsals and one informal tune up gig, this was our first electric performance as a four piece.

That brings me to our 18-year-old phenom Elliot, who threw down on the bass. Like a girl with square cheeks, we had been missing that full BOTTOM in our sound (sorry, that analogy was horrible, but I just couldn't resist).  Elliot not only fills that void, but the kid brings THE FUNK. He also brought a nice chunk of the crowd that night so thanks for that, bro! We're thrilled to have brought Elliot into the fold, and we're looking forward to adding even more versatility to the set list.

Finally, I want to thank the management and staff at Sonny's, who were so accommodating and hospitable. We're booked to play there again on Friday November 30 so if you live in or near Spartanburg, South Carolina mark it down!

Liv 4 Luv,
