If you're wondering what to do today...why not take a trip to the Land of the Lost during the Sci-Fi Channel's all day marathon for Memorial Day?

Reading this on Tuesday? Don't worry - starting today the Land of the Lot collector's DVD set is available in a limited edition flashback lunchbox (the original design)! And you can download the full series on iTunes along with HR Pufnstuf!

..So I was originally angry upon hearing that Will Ferrell was starring in a remake of my beloved Land of the Lost. I used to watch the show every morning before elementary school. Think it came on right after He-Man. Anyways I saw the trailer for the new remake and couldn't believe they were making it into a comedy. From what I remembered the show was anything but humorous. Off the top of the head... creepy, intense, and dramatic are three words that better describe the show.

Well, then I stumbled across the marathon on the Sci-Fi channel today and watched a couple of episodes. To make a long story short... I hadn't laughed so much since the last time I watched some Dave Chappelle stand-up DVD at my friend's house a couple months back. I now think that Will Ferrell is the perfect man to star in the new movie! I can't wait to see it. ..

The Marathon is most awesome so far...Ah, the memories of long ago Saturday mornings watching Marshall, Will and Holly and; of course, Chaka and the Sleestaks...Sid and Marty Krofft made some of my favorite shows back in the 70's and its good to see them revived:)

I am watching and enjoying the episodes. Plus having flashbacks of my childhood. Oh the 70's, such a great time to have grown up? I think so. I would never trade that for anything. ..

Hi Raymond:

I have been watching all day and I am remembering so many episodes. Now you know what I did on my Saturday mornings. I am still the same. But anyway, you are right, there is nothing like the stuff we watched in the 70's. It is definitely a different world now. I am contemplating whether to see the movie with Will Ferrell. I don't know if I am hip to the movie being a comedy. I forgot how serious the show was.

My fiance has never seen Land of the Lost, considering we were around for the 90's remake, and not the original. But I ahd bought it on DVD, and someone stole it!

The Sci-Fi Marathon will allow him to get into the world of Sid and Marty Krofft I love so much, and get us pumped up to go see the new movie next week!

Thanks guys!
"Marshall Will N Holly" on that good ol' "routine expedition". That classic "AAAAHHH" going down that HUGE fall. Those were the days...
.... I'm kind of split on this big budget remake myself.....
.... The trailer: It was WEIRD seeing Marshall turned into some kind of comic egotistical buffoon (god I sound like a trekkie) and the kids turned into "grown up" romantic interests and sidekicks (wasn't Chaka a sidekick?). The Sleestaks look GREAT by the way.....GRUMPY jumped! Holy Cow!....
....Any way, I am so glad the name of KROFFT is alive and well after all these years. ....Me and my brother are dying for a D.C. Follies collector's set!....
....Next up HAS to be PUFNSTUFF or THE BUGALOOS---....I vote Bette Midler as Benita!..

I was glued to the set watching LOTL since I got home from work last night. I still love this show. It's too bad that the movie doesn't take the storyline as seriously as the original series did. It's also too bad that the marathon is soooo short. My 4 year old granddaughter watched it for the first time yesterday and she's hooked now, too! I can't wait to get the lunchbox DVD set!

Yeah thanks so much for aiding in my procrastination yesterday. I was supposed to be packing to move, but instead I found myself taking 2 hour long Land of the Lost breaks several times during the day.
