So I am to shoot my film next week and have a crapload of stuff to do between now and then. I got a little behind after my computer failed on me and i had to spend a full day with brad in post pro to get it working again. after looking at universal props for a cage and a casket (which it occurs to me today that fitting the former into the trunk of a S-class mercedes isn’t going to work), we searched for flowers. and this is where i realized that looking for flowers is rather hard when you consider that you’ve already decided a color palette and, most likely, an arrangement won’t fit in the palette. they make arrangements simply to compliment one another...red with the green foliage with highlights of white. the palette for the film is red, black, brown at the funeral portion. i have been considering doing a trick: taking a color meter and a light meter to the getty, finding a painting i like, perhaps the monet there, and then using a similar color palette and contrast. why not let the great artists decide your film’s color? truth be told i tried this....the light meter doesn’t work very well because of the glossy paint reflecting the light and not giving an accurate representation of the contrast. so this is something i’ll have to think more about.

anyway, for anyone who hasn’t heard, i just got back from a weeklong trip to cowboy-country arizona. we were shooting todd’s documentary on horses. i was going to put a picture up on here of me with a horse, but the only one that i have makes me look like i am mad at it and am trying to push its head away when really i was coaxing it over and petting its head. so yeah, if you see that picture on facebook, i swear its not the way it looks...that horses was cool.

so yeah, don’t expect to hear much from me for the next two weeks until after the film, when i get a chance to breathe.

Bum deal about the comp. I guess the Mac vs. PC commercial isn't entirely accurate yet. lol. Anyway, good luck on the film.

We're heading out on a cruise in July. You should come and relax for a change.

Dude, you could post that picture up. I have no doubt that the D man is a friend to all horses everywhere.
